I get why he became a drunk, but I think expecting her to forget Jamie was too much. Brianna looks like him. That’s a constant reminder. He should have just asked her to move forward and try to focus on their family. I really doubt she didn’t love him at all. Things just became too hard after he pushed her away during sex. Until he became a drunk, they still had something. She tried to reconnect and suggest they see a movie. He could have just agreed to see something they hadn’t seen.
However, him not confronting her about the obituary counts for a lot in his favor. Yes, he became a drunk, but he didn’t scream at her for going back to Jamie. He just accepted that she was leaving him someday. I really wish he hadn’t died such a s**tty death. Why couldn’t they just get a divorce and let him marry Sandy? He could have just left for England. Brianna didn’t want to go with him, so his threat was a moot point. __________________

It was messed up. He started to be mean to Claire because she made him bitter and he found love with another woman. He told Claire he was afraid of losing Brianna and she said she'd never keep him from her. He should have just been able to marry Sandy. I mean, it's not like he was this evil, abusive monster. He just got bitter because she loved someone else more than him. Tbh, book Frank is boring. I think my sympathy and fondness for him is because Tobias is such a good actor. That and the writing humanized him. She really does struggle to be faithful and get back to him, but she and Frank didn't have such an epic connection. I think they should have had an honest talk. She should have told him why she couldn't let him go and that she had another child that died. She never thought she'd see him again, so she stopped feeling bad about Frank. I mean, if he were in her shoes, he wouldn't be celibate for years. He'd accept his lot, meet a good woman and marry her.

No, no...I said he wasn't an abusive monster. He was an for bringing his mistress over on her graduation day, but he didn't scream at her, call her names or make her feel like crap all the time. Until he found the obituary, he wasn't even a drunk.
If anyone needed couples counseling, it was these two. They'd need it from Roger's father, not anyone else, but boy, they sure needed it. They didn't truly talk about things, he just asked her to move forward. __________________

No, by a form of abuse, I mean the whole time (even before the obituary) he was emotionally abusing her. He asked things of her, which she did those things, and then he was just horrible to her. Their whole marriage he was distant from her, having an affair etc. That's emotional abuse.

I assumed he had the affair because of the obituary. I assumed all of his behavior was because of it. He was being an ass when he pushed her away during sex. How the he’ll does he know whether or not she was thinking about Jamie? She’s the one who came to him when she was ready. If he was so hurt, why didn’t he confront her? How was she supposed to know why he was upset? I think he should have just seen the : censored: movie with his family. __________________
