3x04 'Of Lost Things'
{AIRS: 1st October, 2017}

While serving as groomsman at the aristocratic estate of Helwater, Jamie is reluctantly pulled
into the intrigue of a noble British family. In 1968 Scotland, Claire, Brianna and Roger struggle
to trace Jamie's whereabouts in history, leaving Claire to wonder if they will ever find him
again.

Good episode!

I thought so too, though I felt they've rushed through Jamie's storyline again

sourburst 10-01-2017 01:50 PM

I feel like it focused more on Jamie and his progression, more than it did Claire. His son is beautiful.

I knew the Jamie/Geneva scene was coming but I still think it was way too long :lmao: Poor Jamie though, having to be separated from a child yet again :(

Lol, yes I thought so too.

Does anyone else find it *slightly* eye roll worthy that EVERYONE seems to fall in love with Jamie? I mean, in a way I totally get it...look at him! And he is honorable and good and so attractive in a lot of ways. But sometimes it just feels borderline too romance-novel-ish.

Besides the fact that I just have a hard time seeing either Jamie or Claire with other people, I felt his and Geneva's encounter was a little too bodice-ripper ish (again, the romance novel thing). I just thought it was a bit silly (the "you have to teach me", "you can watch if you want" "it hurt at first but then I liked it" etc.). But maybe that was just me. Normally I don't find this show silly in that way at all, so it just surprised me a bit.

Geneva's face reminded me of Claire sometimes!

Overall I did enjoy it but it certainly wasn't my favorite this season.

No I agree totally with you, it does get a bit cliché that almost everyone seems to fall in love with him. Also if it was love from Geneva, I certainly didn't notice that. As Jamie said to her after their coupling, "love is when you give your heart and soul to another". I think what she felt was lust and the endorphins from sex, not love.

I also have a hard time seeing them with other people and the scene was a bit too much. But at least I know they made some changes from the book which I am really happy about.

Many, including myself, think that Geneva reminded of Claire and maybe we were supposed to think that?

The best scene was when Jamie dropped Geneva in the mud, SO funny  Also enjoyed him and John Grey.

Geneva is a bit like Claire, I would have liked seeing the relationship in more detail

sourburst 10-02-2017 05:01 AM

I felt so awkward watching that sex scene. We didn't even get that much detail with the other ships. I agree Rita, I too thought she was very alike to Claire and not just in appearance. She had the same personality traits. On the other hand, I didn't like the whole "I love you" situation. She said it more than once and even her sister said. Don't understand why the show pushed for that.

This was the best episode so far to me. I loved it a lot. Yes, I even liked Geneva. That sex scene between Geneva and Jamie was hot. I loved their back and forth dynamic. Poor Willie, losing Jamie but he's going to be raised well. I enjoyed his relationship with Jamie. May they meet again. And the friendship between Jamie and Grey gets better and better.

I am surprised that Jamie actually offered his body to JG. I know he would do anything to keep his son safe but still, it baffled me after what he has been through.

Me too. I was actually more disturbed by it than feeling "oh he loves his son so much" which is what they were going for I was guessing. I haven't read the books (not beyond the first one anyway) so I don't know how much of this is just in the show and how much is from the books.

Malpaso 10-02-2017 08:20 AM

I'll start off by saying I have NOT read the books but have read DG timeline of all the books. So I have a somewhat idea what happens. So I knew about Geneva/Willie. But I was hoping they could cut it out. But I realize we need Willie in the story. OK that being said, I didn't care for how made Jamie act during the sex scene. I don't know. Did they have to make him seem so willing and 'In to it" no pun intended;)
I felt when he started out in the scene, he was being angry and showed it, But then gave her lessons during. I didn't need to see that. I am glad however he commented that it was not love. JMO
