I kind of wanted to go out with us being off and it's a Friday and his 30th birthday was a few days ago. But we are lame (and mostly broke). We stayed in ordered pizza and watched a few movies.

We watched Halloween II (the Rob Zombie reboot) and Child's Play. Which he made me watch because I told him I hate those movies.

But was really disappointed in the lack of the good horror movies on Netflix and our on demand section on Directv that was free.

Child's Play! That movie ruined dolls for me growing up!

I took my kids trick or treating and we had fun, though it was much colder than last year! They got so much candy! I'm definitely helping them out with eating it all.

Not sure if I've seen those movies.

I really need to think about packing.... as I leave in 3 days. It's actually really overwhelming now that I'm looking around my house! I thought I didn't have that much stuff....

Abu Dhabi. I'm here already and it's been so much more hectic than I thought. Plus while I was last minute packing before we went to the airport I forgot to take the charger for my laptop.

Yeah, I was in the US before. I still haven't managed to find a charger. Well besides one, but it was so expensive. I want to try to find a cheaper one before I go for that. Or have my best friend just mail me my original charger once I set up a PO Box.

Well, I managed to find one that is $54, so I think I'll go back and get it in a few days when I get money deposited into my account.

It's okay. I'm missing Virginia though. I've lived over here before and I didn't really want to come a whole bunch - it's not horrible or anything, it is nice, but I just really liked where we were. It's a long story but basically we want to start paying off student loans and all of that and we have a place to stay here for free, so it cuts back on the costs of rent and therefor we have more money to do so.

Ahh, that makes sense. It's a shame you had to leave the US to make that happen. Not sure if I could live in a non english speaking country.

I know it! But it's a bit hard to find a decent job and I'm still in school. With childcare costs and all that and then living costs -- it's nearly impossible to do it all.

In the English aspect it's not that bad. Here it's very international and everything is in English and Arabic. Everywhere you go has tons of different nationalities working, so English actually ends up often becoming a common language.

Oh, that's not so bad. Are you planning on staying there for good?

No, not for good. Maybe a year or two or three. I don't think I'd ever want to settle here. It's more of one of those places where you come for a bit, save money and go home!
