Diggle is in pain. He's going to need Oliver and Felicity (and Lyla of course) to get through his tough time and realize he belongs with them on TA. When he comes back it won't be because they had to "convince" him to come back like he doesn't really want to but agrees to anyway, they will have just helped him get to a place where he's ready to come back and knows that's where he should be. He's not going to get there hiding in the Army and not truly dealing with his issues. I'm pretty sure they will be involved. He's not going to be off somewhere hiding from his pain and just decide he's ready to go back. He will need the love of his family (Olicity and Lyla and baby Sara) in an active way like with them showing him how much they need him or reminding him how much they can accomplish as team and stuff like that. He's not going to heal on his own without them. So there is nothing wrong with them trying to get him back and encouraging him to come back and stuff. Because ultimately he will come back when he's ready and when he realizes again it's where he belongs. It's not ever going to be like they forced him to come back or like it somehow wasn't his decision. It's going to be completely his decision to come back but he's not going to get there without his loved ones.
