well it's a bait in the sense that it's not necessary to their story but I'm sure it will be used in a way that ties/serves the present story (like a scene of them hooking up during the hiatus as being the point where they really start to drift apart and try to move on while the present would be the point where they start coming back together)

Well they did seem to possibly be in the bunker in that BTS pic, so it has some possible truth to it.
