I actually didn't mind Sophia that much. I mean, she's definitely no Amy, but I think she was a good midgame love interest for Jake. I actually find the Teddy arc much harder to watch (even though it was wonderfully written), but that was probably because we see Jake actively pining for Amy during it, and we don't see Amy pining for Jake during the Sophia arc... Which is an entirely different problem in itself, obviously.

That's funny, for me I could watch the Teddy arc a million times and not mind it! I guess because where Jake is the main character, when he moves on (away from Amy) in his love interests, it's a bigger deal to me idk

Lol yeah, Amy and Teddy really didn't get any development other than maybe the first episode when Teddy appeared. Amy seemed completely uninterested.

I don't really mind Teddy or Sophia much either, the only person I can't stand is Marcus. I feel pairing Rosa and Marcus has made her character rather boring.

But let me agree.. Jake being the main character indeed make it seems like his relationships are bigger than everyone's else. Which is not true, because clearly Amy and Teddy got an way longer/more stable relationship than Jake and Sophia (thank God for that).

I also still rather see him pining for her tho

Yeah, out of all the love interests outside of the main cast, Marcus is absolutely the worst.

And I actually do love the pining aspect of the Teddy arc (I prefer the arc over the Sophia arc on the whole), but I think it's more heartbreaking for me to watch, because Teddy is a constant presence during his arc, even if he's not on screen. Sophia never even gets mentioned in the episodes she's not in, but with Teddy, there's a constant reminder that he exists and that Jake and Amy can't be together. With Jake and Sophia, I just felt less awareness, I guess, that there was a love triangle going on and that it was getting in the way~ of Jake and Amy.

Also, I remember having that stomach sinking feeling when I first watched Tactical Village, and I never had that with the Jake and Sophia episode, but again, I think that's because we don't see Amy being sad over Jake/Sophia or pining over him.

I think I would've been 'jealous' of Amy with Teddy if we had seen them be lovey-dovey around each other. We got kissing/make out scenes between Jake/Sophia which were cringe-worthy to me because I can't see Jake with anyone other than Amy

And Marcus is just... blah.

Yeah exactly the fact that there was no real romancey stuff, no kissing etc, between Teddy and Amy makes me not be bothered by it too much personally. With Sophia I have to fastforward through the kissing and stuff because I seriously can't take it
