So I'm watching fan reactions to this episode and like 90% of people are confused as to why Barry didn't run at the end of the episode. I'm just like??? How can they miss that he didn't run because of Iris. The camera literally lingered on the picture of him and Iris...and then Barry says "Don't run". Beginning of the episode he tells Iris he doesn't need to run when he's with her. That obviously ties back into the ending. I feel like people willfully ignore Barrys' love for Iris...like she is his motivation for a lot of things in life, and if you choose to ignore that then you won't fully understand Barry's actions.
some people are very dense that had to be the most obvious throwback to what he said at the beginning haha...Personally I LOVED the character development it showed in Barry, rather than run from his problems or eff up the timeline he chose to stay put and deal with them with the help of the love of his life — it’s all he needs, as long as she’s on his side he can handle anything. Made the decision and the gravity of the situation a little more bearable knowing he felt that way.

I'm 100% sure this is what's happening

I didn't realize that the beginning tied back to the end. I felt like he was just being his usual romantic self but it couldn't have been made more obvious that he didn't run because of Iris. And running would be an admission of guilt anyway.

I think Clifford and Marlize were betting on Barry staying. When Marlize said that she would do anything to save her marriage she knew that Barry would do the same for Iris. What I'd like to know is what they need Barry in prison for. It should tie back to the warden and some of the bus metas.

I agree, with those who were talking about Barry's growth. Not running, which he has spent a lifetime of doing. Powers or not, it has been his go to move. It's a nice change. I like growth in characters. When they don't grow and change, I get board.

We really didn't get to see our couple celebrate Christmas this year. What would you have liked to seen? For me, it would have been Christmas morning, opening gifts, Barry making a big breakfast, the stockings.......

I think the caterer at the wedding will be their daughter. Remember in the first episode of the season Barry said "Nora shouldn't be here." My guess is that the girl is their daughter Nora Dawn. Maybe she won't say that her name is Dawn but she will say her name is Nora, like Barry's mother.

^ Yes, that's the popular theory going around. I think it's funny how even fanboys are excited about this mysterious character being their daughter. They hate Iris but want the Tornado Twins and Bart Allen. Well guess what, you can't get none of that without Iris West-Allen

I wanted to see them waking up in bed together and exchanging gifts.

I can't wait to see Dawn again. She's like the byline. This exciting foreshadowing of Westallen's love.

Edit: This makes me so emotional.

That makes me emotional as well. Great job, Grant! I also love the foreshadowing.

That would have been so great to see. I can see it, in my minds eye.

just after that gif ends, he takes a deep breath in and it’s so perfect....taking in her beauty, Candice is absolutely gorgeous, I guess this ceremony would’ve been too perfect if they got to say their park vows in the church

Still better than those who think the Tornado Twins are going to be Patty or Caitlin's kids with Barry

Those fanboys/antis are beyond deluded.

Dawn’s already on the scene and one day soon Bart shows up and says, “This house is bitchin’.”

I feel like Dawn’s name will be Nora either as a first or second name. I wonder when she will re-appear and who she’ll reveal herself to. I want it to be Iris or Iris and Barry together.

I know. Grant was excellent and conveyed those emotions so well. It made me cry.

Yes, to all of this. It's really shocking to me that the same people who have complained about how "selfish" Barry is, are disappointed that he didn't run. Barry is maturing as a person and a superhero, in large part because of his relationship with Iris. I fairly certain that's why the writers keep having Iris say, "we are the Flash", but since the fanboys hate it they are missing the point.

Several things are in Barry's favor: 1) he actually didn't kill him, 2) he had no evidence on his clothes, 3) he has a strong alibi, and 4) an autopsy will show that DeVoe didn't die from a stab wound.

Also, if these writers don't bring up the fact that Barry as a CSI would never commit murder in such a sloppy way, I will be livid. Barry would know all of the tricks to get away with it. If the crime scene is sloppy, it must be a set up! On another note, I hope they explain why Cecile is Barry's defense attorney when she's a prosecutor She couldn't prosecute him because of their relationship, but she shouldn't just switch sides, either.

Also do they not want an actual storyline to take place? Or do they just want filler episodes for 23 episodes? Don't they want The Thinker to be a good adversary worthy of a full season run?

they overplayed their hand too soon...again...i hope the trial of the flash lasts at least 2 episodes...maybe have barry in jail for 2!?! he needs time to figure out what the deal is with the bus metas in prison...then get him out please. Take a look here:

At first this made me laugh and it was like wtf can you believe they'd use someone else's hands in this shot!?!...then i realized the shot is actually quite ugly and out of place..which could only mean one thing: it's important to the plot in the future & they forgot to get the shot with Candice on the actual day...

I'll bet money Dawn/Nora will reappear later to help Barry & prove her identity to Iris with a really old copy of those vows!
