I'm thinking back of all Caitlin's relationships and strangely enough the romance with Jay was the one she seemed to be the more invested in.
I obviously loved her with Ronnie but at times the writing was too wishy-washy to sell the epic love I was expecting from them. They were very hit or miss and their connection got sacrificed for ship-baiting nonsense. Caitlin didn't want to look for him after realizing he had merged with Stein (1x12) and kissed Everyman while still in a relationship with Ronnie (1x19). I'm sure some of it it's due to the fact that Robbie wasn't a regular but the writing gave the impression that Ronnie loved her more than she loved him. I think Julian was a good love interest for her but she wasn't that good of a love interest for him. They were cute at times but she wasn't that into him. Once Jay caught her attention it was him and only him To me they forced it too much too soon but Caitlin was very invested. She was devastated when he died and dating him and trying to save him from his sickness became her main s2 storyline. That obviously changed once it was revealed Jay = Zoom.__________________

Agreed that out of the 3 related to Ronnie|Jay|Julian that her romance with Jay was written the best out of the 3
 even when it was revealed Jay was Zoom__________________
