[6.10] MARATHON ϟ EPISODE DISCUSSION ϟ  ϟ LIFE AFTER THE CRISIS ϟ ϟ PROMO ϟAfter The Citizen prints an explosive story, Iris’s (Candice Patton) life is threatened. Refusing to hide from those that are attacking her, Iris sets out to expose a dangerous organization. Meanwhile, Barry (Grant Gustin) must face the consequences of the Crisis and fulfill Oliver Queen’s wish for him. ϟ REMINDERS ϟ - Be respectful. Not everyone is going to agree with you at all times. - Nice to see Jitters reopened
- Love the new intro - They finally named Black Hole. I knew they had to be the baddies based on the logo. - Good to see Diggle visiting. Hopefully we get more one-off crossovers like this. - Obsidian Tech (Supergirl) shout out! - Loving reporter Iris! - Awww, Cisco is mourning Harry and Jesse. So are we, Cisco. So are we. - Oooh, they're using the actual Doctor Light this time (Kimiyo Hoshi), rather than the Linda Park version from Season 2. I don’t know why they decided to make her a villain though. She’s normally a hero. - Is Barry losing control of the speedforce now that the vibrational frequencies of Earth-Prime are off? - Iris being awesome is everything I needed for the second half of the season. - Is the person in that big mirror the new female Mirror Master? Are we getting an Iris doppelganger next week? __________________

 oo this new world nice to see diggle come and help barry hopefully no more mirakuru hope iris will be okay but iris investigation skills are amazing wonder what the mirror is and also nash wells and someone that looks like allegra in that photo that black hole is dangerous __________________

[rant]The ep would've been fine if there was no Nash, Kamilla, Allegra or Frost in it. IMO they take up WAY too much screentime. I know that Kamilla & Allegra (she's Nash's daughter now? Or someone from his past?
  ) are members of Team Citizen, but the actresses fall way too flat for me. They could've found someone with, I don't know...better acting chops?? Anywho, tired of Nash (he's no longer Pariah, so what now?) & why exactly is Frost there? [/rant]Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I have to disagree slightly w/some of the critics. They said that this was the best mid-season premiere ever; IMHO, 3x10 takes the cake on that one. Other than that, this was a solid ep. Iris got to show her reporter skills (we've been waiting, what, 3 or 4 YEARS for this?), & Iris & Joe FINALLY had a much needed scene together. It's been awhile since I've read the comics but Kimiyo Hoshi (wasn't she Dr. Light once upon a time) is an assassin now?? And was it just me, but for an assassin she was an extremely lousy shot. And she's working for an organization like Black Hole??? This storyline is really intriguing! I hope they keep up this energy next week! |
