It's strange because in one episode they explained it with "He's out with Jenna", in another one he and Cecile were spending Thanksgiving with Cecile's family. They didn't show Barry at CCPD so it's not like they needed to justify his absence there.
They have been able to get away with it so far, I'm not sure why we need a deeper explanation now. __________________
