Hello everyone, I'm new here

I have a question...well its more of a clarification. Because I already sort of know but another forum confused things more lol.
Basically when you Google 'barry allen job' you come up with 'forensic scientist for central city police department '.
I'm from london so my understanding of this is that's he's a CSI who simply works FOR the CPD, that does not mean he is an actual police officer ? Correct Because if he was- wouldn't he be able to arrest the criminal/villen he catches ? A post like this has been discussed, as I said some just confused it more. In the end no one one really got it...
So final part of the post, a while back like a good few months. Grant Gustin who plays Barry Allen posted an image of himself on insttagram ----->https://www.instagram.com/p/BOvMnEKh...rantgust&hl=en
As you can see it clearly says CPD. My question is Barry Allen the character going to be a Police officer in upcoming episodes or he is already? I skipped a few episodes of flash as I really wanted to seethe gorilla city episode....nothing has been mentioned or any news sites etc. Anyone can clarify because my understanding is he simply a csi and not and police officer, if that's true lol what's with the jacket he wore....! Thanks to anyone who got this post and help out

He's not going to be a police officer. He's just a CSI who works at the CCPD.

In episode 17 they will be caught in a dream world, so the only possibility of him being a police officer would be for that episode. Otherwise no.
