Happy 100! This was a pretty great episode
- @ Ralph playing the Back to the Future theme. - Hello Mr. Time Wraith. Haven’t seen you in a while. - So… Barry DOES have (or HAD?) a daughter named Dawn! Was she his daughter in the original Pre-Mamma Allen’s death future? We need to learn more about that. - Okay, so I kinda missed shady Eo-Wells. - Aww…. Baby!Grodd - Nora’s a member of the Legion of Superheroes! I knew there was a reason for all those Legion references I was picking up on. Please tell me there’s a version of Brainiac 5 in her Legion so she can bond with Earth-38’s Brainy about time travel and alternate Earths during the crossover. - That same doctor is showing up everywhere, isn't she? - Nora (to Barry after seeing Grandma and Grandpa Allen): Do you ever think about going back and stopping what's about to happen? Barry: - Sherloque, how did you realize that code wasn't created by Nora? Why did you call her "clever girl" in that creepy voice? Are you also a Thawne? - Okay, Nora – why are you hanging out with Eo-Wells? I was kind of hoping Matt Letscher would reprise his role as Eobard in that final scene. On a side note: Didn’t he get sucked back into the speedforce by a time wraith on Legends of Tomorrow? How is he in (I’m assuming) the Future? (Although I guess I could also be asking how he ended up on Earth-X during last year’s crossover too – unless I missed how he got away from the time wraith). __________________

Wow. This episode had a lot of good moments. But that last scene with Barry and Nora, got me right in the feels.
“Hey, old man. Come on.” “Old man?” I loved their scenes together. Nice callbacks to past seasons. As Cisco phrased it “it was the best of times, and the worst of times”. Anyway, a 100th episode is meant to celebrate a show and pay tribute to it. And I honestly feel like this did exactly that. Even if they had to make it about the current storyline with Cicada. That twist at the end with Thawne was great. Getting more and more excited for this arc. __________________

I really liked the reveals that Thawne dropped and the last scene between Barry/Nora.

I got to wonder what would have happened if Cisco vibed the dagger to another Earth instead of Outer Space.

Well, to start, I think that this ep was overhyped. What tipped me off was the fact that the co-leads didn't even bother to promote it; that was a red flag. IMHO the best ep of the series, thus far, was 4x15, & that ep wasn't even hyped by any stretch of the imagination, even though the co-leads did promote that one
First off, everything that the writers thought was supposed to be shocking was extremely anti-climatic. I think by ep 4 people were suspecting that Nora was in cahoots w/Thawne. So seeing him at the end was kindafor me. And why did NO one question her plan in the least? Where did she even get this idea? (I know it was Thawne, but why didn't the team ask?) Why didn't Iris have a least one small reservation about it? The only one who had any sense initially was Barry. And exactly where is Sherloque getting his info from? I still think that he's hiding something as well. He's not from the past, or the future, or even this earth, so what's his schtick... When they went back to Savitar, how did Barry of that time (or even Savitar) not tell they were near? And then all of a sudden a Time Wraithe appeared? And when they encountered Zoom, why did he even go back to STAR Labs to confront Barry/Nora? That didn't happen before. The funny thing about that was when Zoom was chasing Barry/Nora, the Time Wraithe came & grabbed Zoom once again Hadn't had a good laugh w/this show for a minute... I wonder if in the original timeline "Nora" was actually "Dawn"
Spoiler:
Another plot hole: how could Nora NOT know that her grandma was killed by Reverse Flash? I know the "Flash Museum" wouldn't tell her that, but how come her mom didn't? And exactly why did she go back to her grandparents' home at that particular moment? All that work Barry/Nora did, & it didn't even work. What even...? And now KF "saved the day" bc she doesn't have dark matter in her system? OK, then. And there was way too little WA interaction. That for sure kills an episode. I hope that the fallout from this will be a lot more rewarding & satisfying then this ep. It wasn't the worst, but it was hyped up way too much (& fell flat) to be considered the best. |

First I loved the episode and I want to say that the editers did an amazing job in this episode.
So can someone help me with something? I thought back in season one, we saw that Wells (RF) went out of his way to create the Flash, so he could get home. The explotion, caused Barry to become the Flash. Because he needed Barry to get home. That is confusing enough, but now in the last episode, we are lead to believe he killed Nora to prevent Barry from becoming the Flash. |
