He should. Giving him a pregnancy storyline limited him. Regulars be regulated to guest stars and guest stars being upgraded to regular status.

It really is. We haven't a West family moment ever. No dinners like they have every season. I don't get how you can claim to move in a direction similar to S1 but forget key elements.

Let's be real, when they promised they'd go back to the s1 feeling it was about the humor and only the humor. There were too many complaints about s3 being too depressing so they steered in the opposite direction.
The thing about s1 was that there was a balance between heart, humor and angst. It wasn't jokes all the time and there wasn't this obnoxious trend of turning situations that should be serious and emotional into a joke. Joe announcing Cecile's pregnancy was one of the most ridiculous scenes this show has ever had  Thankfully, they have been doing better in the last episodes  __________________

Precisely. Cheap humor without any heart. I remember watching 4x03 and it was just a mess. Forcing all these "funny" moments. While allowing Wally to leave in the most cold and disconnected scene they've had. Don't even get me started on dancing in the Lab over Cecile's pregnancy. It has to be in the right setting and with the right emotional investment behind it. For example, if Wally earned some engineering scholarship and they danced about it in the West house, and that was his goodbye.
They have been extremely hit and miss with Joe and other characters. 4x15 was fantastic and 4x16 was good. 4x17 looks bad though. All I see is Ralph and cheap humor. This isn't the Big Bang Theory. __________________
