Gone Rogue [5.20] - Episode Discussion [April 30th, 2019]
[5.20] GONE ROGUE ϟ EPISODE DISCUSSION ϟ  ϟ WEATHER WITCH, QUEEN BEE AND RAG DOLL RETURN TO CENTRAL CITY ϟ ϟ PROMO ϟBarry (Grant Gustin) continues to struggle with how he feels about Nora’s (Jessica Parker Kennedy) betrayal. Brie Larvan (guest star Emily Kinney), Joss Jackam (guest star Reina Hardesty) and Peter Merkel (guest star Troy James) return to Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) makes a bold decision. ϟ REMINDERS ϟ - Be respectful. Not everyone is going to agree with you at all times. - Easter Egg #1: G. Simone & Associates… Gail Simone? (popular comic book writer)
- EARLIER THIS SEASON: Cisco: I don’t know if I want to be Vibe anymore (proceeds to work on a metahuman cure for that very reason) TONIGHT'S EPISODE: Sherloque (to Cisco): Is it possible you don’t want to be Vibe anymore? Cisco (acting as if this is some surprising new insight): Wait, what do you mean?! Me: Do the writers just… NOT watch the season they're actually writing for?  - Easter Egg #2: Jenni Ognats is Barry and Iris’s granddaughter in the comics (Dawn Allen's daughter) - I LOVE the WestAllen family coming through like the bad-ass superhero Fam they are. Can we have more of that? Especially Iris knocking people's heads all the way 'round  - So is Orlin-cada in Grace-Cada’s head now? More importantly, why have we been forced to endure this storyline all season? __________________

This ep could've been kept. Nora's "being bad" didn't have the heft it should've, & I REALLY didn't need to see Weather Witch & Ragdoll EVER again. And the fact that the 'rogues" betrayed Nora? Saw that coming a mile away. And can the Cicadas just. go. away. permanently.
Ralph & Caitlin's subplot was useless. I DID, surprisingly, enjoy Cisco & Sherloque's banter. But didn't Cisco state earlier in the season that he didn't want to be Vibe anymore? As usual, WA fam saved this ep. Joe/Iris father-daughter crime fighting duo FTW! Quote:

Note to Barry Allen: Saying "The why doesn't matter" when your kid does something you disapprove of is the WORST thing you can do. The why ALWAYS matters. You might actually find out something important if you just take the time to ask instead of immediately getting angry and refusing to listen.
