I think it was so he wouldn't erase his current life, which was good despite all the tragedy. They didn't want to mess with the past anymore and probably accepted that whatever happened, happened.

Could it be that there is a version of the future in which Barry does save his mum and future Barry was aware of this and knew it wouldn't turn out well and that's why he warned Barry against it?

Seeing Nora at the end of finale my favorite though was 2x21

^ My favorite was from the season 1 finale. It hurt so extremely much but the fact that Nora got to see and talk with Barry before she did broke my heart so much.

Yea the episode is Top 5 overall within The Flash maybe even 2nd or 3rd

I need to watch it again, it's been awhile but that scene with Barry/Nora was the stand out moment for me.
