A hint at why Nora is distant towards Iris? She was certainly...off put by Iris not being so upset by Barry's future disappearance.

I took it that she was a bit surprised, based on how she reacted when Barry disappeared. Iris probably lost it, when Barry went missing. She may have ended up being distant, or very cautious as a result. Just my take on things till I see more. I wish they have given us more to go on.

A nitpick I have aside the anti-Iris attitude is that I think they should tone down the quirky, overexcited attitude. It may grate after a while.

Based on episode descriptions, I am guessing that the ice will thaw in or around episode four. I honestly don't think they will drag this out too long. No one wants that.

One thing I have noticed on my rewatches, is how Nora is constantly surprised at her mom's reaction to things and how she acts, and so on. Not worried about the timeline, she wants to save Barry, they can do it. I just think that Iris was devastated by Barry absence and it influenced how she raised Nora. Maybe she was a bit overprotective.

I agree. Wait till you see episode two. There isn’t a lot of interaction between the two, but you notice things.
