Clarice83 and CryPretty by your encore: None of what you said explains ignoring the works of countless women before her. You're sounding like Susan B. Anthony with your whole chest. Danielle's privilege and clout makes it okay to incorrectly state she's the first female director? Telling the truth doesn't negate from her achievement. It only takes away from other women when you pretend otherwise or worse attempt to justify why it's okay. I made the point of TC to highlight how ridiculous it is to rewrite a narrative to suit an agenda.

From history, we know how many women not known to the general public have been erased due to elitism. If it's about commemoration, conquering and inspiring, then let it be the truth. Not a whitewashed version of it. Then it's none of the three things you listed.

There's nothing empowering or progressive about that. Aside from tickling the toes of fans who clearly need a reality check if they truly thought she was the first female director and Arrowverse has gone over 7 whole years without one. Or worse, those who know she isn't and are more than happy to act as though that's the case.

That's the greatest issue I have - you trying to justify this flat out lie.

It's like when people said Melissa Benoist was the first female superhero or that Ruby Rose is going to be the first lesbian superhero. No and no. Let's stop justifying and back peddling excuses as to why lying in the name of "feminism" is okay.

Sorry, these female directors of Arrowverse don't have a platform or blind allegiance from a fandom to express it's not right. However, them not having a voice isn't an excuse to okay them being silenced by a lie.
