I guess cuz he figured it would just be easier -the whole investigation would affect her, and probably him, since he is her superior and TO. Maybe he'll figure out how to balance it so he gets out of the office more..

Ah, but he is her 1st T.O. and her dad trained him..he respects her and knows the team would never be as good without her. Plus I think he felt partly responsible for her mistakes with Duncan cuz he didn't follow his instinct to keep Duncan at the desk for awhile before turning him loose on the streets.
