| #1 Katie and James: Cause Their Chemistry is forever Welcome to the new Katie and James Thread  Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek played the characters of Dawson and Joey on the Smash Hit WB television show Dawson's Creek. On and off screen they had one of the greatest chemistries we have ever seen and to this day are are great friends. Ever since they first met we all knew there was something special between Katie and James and that their chemistry was forever. From them dating around season 2 to their close friendship and bond throughout the series of Dawsons Creek and still to this day.
