yes! i was so happy when i read about that nomination!

i think he's got quite a different style of comedy than mindy/ike etc. they're all pretty "loud" in interviews (and on set too, i'm sure). he's much more subtle, but that doesn't make his lines & acting any less funny. and that way, they play off each other perfectly

i love how they're still portraying him with all his weird opinions about the pope and society and stuff, but have let him open up so much towards mindy. his development is so believable.

have you watched any of his other movies/shows? i saw him in "celeste and jesse forever", but that was before i was obsessed with him on tmp. same for "made of honor", though i don't think his part was that memorable. and it's a pretty different sort of comedy

i watched "28 hotel rooms" because of him... not my kind of movie

I love his weird opinions

I haven't seen him in anything besides TMP. It's time I change that though.

he's been in a lot of things, actually! but i'd never really noticed him before... i do think that mindy's kind of comedy brings out a great side in him. but it's probably also because he's never played a character that was so lovable before.

I'd forgotten that he was kinda jerky in the beginning. Telling Mindy to lose 15 pounds and all.

you're right... but i never saw him as a jerk, but as someone who was trying to act cold when he clearly wasn't. i guess i was into him from the start and would have seen his vulnerable side in anything

but i'm glad they addressed that losing weight thing in season 2 when he tells her there's nothing wrong with her body at all

I've seen Chris Messina on HBO's The Newsroom before TMP. His character on that show is just as emo/grumpy as Danny but Danny is much more loveable.

i don't really think it's my kind of show though, so i doubt it's getting worth into just to get to his character a few seasons in.

And he's only in a few eps plus his character isn't likeable on that show. But at least he gets to play Jane Fonda's son.

A little trivia: remember the ep where Danny dated Alex? The actress who played her was also on The Newsroom but she has no scenes with Chris on the show.

I can't stand his character on the newsroom but but love the relationship he has with his mum on that, Jane Fonda is amazing in that show.

Anyone seen Away we Go or The giant mechanical man. Chris gives a heartbreaking performance in Away we Go and the Giant Mechanical man his character is great, just a real story about two people kind of finding each other at he right time and making each other better
