honestly, the friendship you see budding between Avery and Deacon is SO a result of the RL friendship chip and jj have

Add me too
I need more scenes with them together... especially once Avery finds out about the Jeff/Juliette thing, he'll need someone to talk to. Plus the fundraiser in the finale is a Deacon thing and ZAG are performing so hopefully that means a Deacon/Avery scene setting that up And I still want a scene with the two of them talking about their relationships with Rayna and Juliette __________________

this is my otp!friendship so I need ALLLL the scenes I don't think Avery would ever seek Deacon out and try to talk about his problems with Juliette. I can actually see Deacon being the one (out of concern for Avery and Juliette separately) going to see if he's ok. And then ofc sharing his own experiences with Rayna! __________________

yeah I don't exactly see Avery going to Deacon for advice either... I could see Deacon hearing about stuff between them from Juliette and then trying to talk to Avery about it
when they were touching on the money issue between JA I thought that could make a very interesting Deacon/Avery conversation about Rayna/Juliette... it was never quite the same situation with DR but close enough for a conversation __________________

but even more so, the parallel between Deacon and Avery. These are the two guys who moved to Nashville with the hopes of making it big and it doesn't work out that way, so they move behind the scenes in a more supportive role to women they love (not out of bitterness or anything. Both Deacon and Avery have never seems to be ~bitter about not making it now. Both are clearly ambitious, but it's just not their priority anymore.) but even when Avery back in S1 was ambitious, I thought they drew a really interesting parallel between the two when we find out Marilyn tried to sign Deacon, but he refused (assuming its because of Rayna). It's like without Rayna, Deacon would have led a similar fate to what happened to Avery. Rayna was Deacon's tether in many ways. __________________

I think there was a lot that went into Deacon not making a second album and it wasn't necessarily because he couldn't have made it as a solo artist if he wanted to. When he and Rayna were together I think he was getting everything that he wanted out of music and got to avoid the stuff he didn't like. He got to be on tour and write songs and from what we've heard of their old songs he sings on a lot of them too. But he didn't have to deal with the fame and press events and media attention that Rayna did (I think he tends towards the Scarlett side of things there). Plus with all the drinking he wasn't really in a good place to manage his own career and so Rayna just sort of figured it out for the both of them There's definitely an interesting conversation there about being with someone as famous as Rayna or Juliette. But the difference is Avery didn't meet Juliette until after she was a big star. Deacon knew Rayna before she was Rayna Jaymes. And I think she really meant it and believes it when she said without Deacon Claybourne there would be no Rayna Jaymes. She feels like everything that she has, she built with him. So even if publicly there appears to be this big success difference between them I don't think they ever felt it the way that Avery has at times. __________________
