the love story;

J u l i e t t e B a r n e s was the girl who had never known what it meant to be truly loved or chosen as worthy. Despite being a country artist sensation, she still looked for validation in her self worth in her career and in men she used. A v e r y B a r k l e y was the guy who would do anything to make it to the top, pushing down anyone and everyone he could to garner success in his music career.

Juliette and Avery had first crossed paths backstage at the Opry, where they bump into each other, and Juliette cheekily tells him that they should “try that again sometime, only slower.” But after that, they don’t have any meaningful interaction until Avery realizes he has been used by his manager and label head, and he burns his masters and joins Juliette’s tour as a roadie. From that time on, they build an i n s t a n t and almost u n s p o k e n connection. Avery became Juliette’s band leader and friend, giving her advice and not being afraid to call her out when he felt she was doing something wrong.

Their friendship and deep trust in each other led to feelings being developed that neither of them truly realized. They both came to the realization that “Love is wanting to help someone be the best version of themselves”, and that is what sets these two apart. They have both made poor choices, been used and broken, and yet together they find redemption and peace from their past mistakes. No matter where these two characters drift, there is a kindred love and respect that will be undeniably present.

That is crazy about Chris having more songs than Hayden.

Over here I noticed Hayden's songs and ZAGs songs are doing great (don't put dirt was no.2 in country chart) and everyone else's, not selling that well, Chris didn't look like any were selling. This is only iTunes but still...!

Maybe they will take all this into account in season 3...we will have to wait and see.

I hate waiting!

I'm not sure, but again OLS was frustrating, because it was barely heard on the show. If I hadn't been waiting for it, I don't know how much I would have noticed it.

Totally agree. If I hadn't known about the song prior, I doubt I have would even noticed it. It is ashame the songs we WANT to hear are the only that only get a few seconds if that of on air while other songs we don't care about get to be heard in their entirety.

Bringing this over to the other thread as no one answered. Does anyone know how long maternity leave is normally? 6-8 weeks? Do you think they will have sense to pre-tape Hayden's scenes, so Juliette is not missing from episodes? With no Juliette, the ratings will tank IMO.

Yes I thought it was about 6-8weeks. I have no idea where I heard that though. You'd think they would just prerecord scenes so that her absence isn't felt but I really don't know. But that was my first thought about how they could get around it.

They have to! Because there are really important lyrics in that that she didn't hear, and I'm sure they don't want to put that to waste-right? It has to reappear in season 3

HI AND TFTNT!!!!

Ed said they will start shooting mid-July which sucks because Hayden will have to take a maternity leave and the show will tank without their MVP. If they started shooting mid-June it would give them an extra month for Hayden to pre-tape most of her scenes (which I hope involve lots of Avery).
If they don't use their time wisely we will be stuck with Clare and Will and we can kiss a possible S4 goodbye because no one would tune in fir that mess.
The people running the show need to step up their game and thing strategically because we're doomed.

I think OLS will get more exposure in S3, btw.

I'm frankly hoping we get kind of a break from Clare/Scarlett- her career woes and breakdown took over a huge chunk of the latter part of S2. I think she needs to be backburnered a bit- there was a LOT of critic weariness of Scarlett this past season.

Of course, no one has ever liked Luke, and that seems beyond CK's comprehension.

Scarlett's storyline was literally painful for me to watch. Make her a songwriter with Gunnar again, because that's where people loved her most.

The transparency of putting her with Hayden so she could be likeable again backfired so hard on them. But also because they decided to make it a ~jealousy thing.

Maternity leave is really tricky in the US, basically because our laws are whack. LOL. But that wouldn't impact Hayden so much, as it mostly impacts lower income women. However, it does have the effect of a general lower leave period- often more like 4-8 weeks, whereas a lot of countries have 6 months to a year. I know Kristen Bell was back working about four weeks after her daughter was born.
