I still think killing off Derek was super unnecessary, but nothing is ever sane with Shonda.

fitz is probably my most hated male character ever. I want him to die a painful death.

Yeah Derek got this big opportunity to do research in Washington DC. He and Mer fought about it for forever. At first she was going to come with him but then decided she wasn't going to leave the rest of her life for him. So eventually he ended up going on his own. Mer was kicking all sorts of surgical ass without him and didn't lose a patient for the exact time he was gone. She calls him and some random woman answers his phone. Mer actually brings up that he had done the same thing to Addison. He comes back. Random woman was working with him on his research. She had kissed him but it just made him realize he wanted to go home to his wife and kids. So he's only been back in Seattle for a couple episodes and now he's dead.

Patrick Dempsey had already said he wasn't going to renew his contract when it was up at the end of this season. So for a while it was looking like he'd just ditch Mer and the kids. But no he comes back because she's the love of his life and dies instead

And at this point Shonda has killed so many people I just find it hilarious in general. Every season either someone dies or there's a major disaster at that hospital

It will maybe be a disaster but all the speculation/fun while they'll be filming will probably be worth it anyway.
