I haven't rewatched the first season in a long time, but from what I remember it is a bit different than later seasons. I think it focused a lot on Brakebills (the university) where the later seasons didn't have as much focus on the school. Keegan Connor Tracy is recurring on the show too, she's a professor at the school.
