Thanks for opening the thread.

I've already watched the series finale twice and I'm too tired to post much about it tonight, but I will say that OQ scene broke me.

Will post more later in the weekend or next week.

Regina had a lot of emotional scenes in this episode. Topping the list for me is the OQ scene which I can't watch without crying like a baby. It's not everything I wanted, but it gave me what I needed. Robin's soul still exists. The feather proves it was more than a dream. Regina still misses him even after all this time, he was there when she needed him most, and in my mind, they are absolutely going to be together again when it's Regina's time to pass on.

I really loved Regina's goodbye to Rumple. A great way to honor such a complicated relationship.

I have mixed feelings about the story with Wish Henry. I loved that Regina realized that WHenry's suffering was leading him down the same path that she had taken after suffering loss and manipulation and she was willing to do anything to stop that from becoming his story. I do think it was a bit of a jump for him to go from wanting to kill her to being willing to be embraced by her the very next moment and then eventually calling her mom. It felt realistic to me from Regina's POV, but not from his. Still, it was a nice story.

The coronation was a special moment for Regina because even though she has always been a leader, she is now the *chosen* leader. She didn't get that title from a curse or an unwanted marriage, she earned it because the people trust her and believe in her. Snow was so emotional during that coronation. She could barely hold in her tears when she crowned Regina the "Good Queen".

I'm pretty sure they broke every law of time travel by not going back to their own time, living in a town where past versions of themselves still lived, and combining realms. There should have been a huge ripple affect on the future from that, but oh well. It's over now.

Stories other than Regina:

I liked WHook sacrificing himself to save Alice from being sucked into the unhappy ending storybook portal. He and Regina are both awesome parents.

I loved Rumple giving his heart to cure WHook and his reunion with Belle in the afterlife.

I missed Snowing, it was great to see them again. Emma running into the coronation saying "sorry I'm late" was a nice callback to the pilot.

I t was nearly perfect. As you said, the timeline stuff is a mess...there would probably be some sort of effect from that on any other show...but...

I agree with everythung you said here for the most part. As for Wish Henry calling Regina Mom...maybe it would have made more sense had we seen what happened in the time between...who knows.

Also I like to add, that Emna scene was adorable. Having her say "She'll always be Madam Mayor to me." Was too cute for words.

For a series finale, this was pretty decent. It did not give me everything I wanted for Regina, as I disagreed with A&E's post-finale commentary that they felt part of Regina's HE never required romantic companionship like everybody else got (ie. I still think this is ego based and stubbornness to admit what happened with OQ did not work out like it should have), but that aside, the ending coming back full circle to her and the Charmings made complete sense. In the pilot, Regina initially carried a warped sense on what her HE would be - separating everybody else from theirs so they would be alone through a Dark Curse. In the finale, she moved to using the foundation of the Dark Curse for good, to bring all the realms and everybody together so they wouldn't have to be alone. And this was done with voluntary consent, anybody willing to offer up a small piece of their hearts to unite everybody.

The Coronation event was very nice. Regina transformed from a lost and angry Queen fueled by revenge into a natural leader whom the people actually supported. That is quite a redemption all these realms have acknowledged about her, not just SB, like we got in the s6 finale.

Rumple dying was expected; however, that was a very final and touching scene Regina shared with him as he passed on. I couldn't help but find the scene a little reminiscent to when Regina held her mother, Cora, as she laid dying in her arms and Cora shared her regrets that Regina would have been enough. Rumple wasn't her parent, but early on, even though their relationship was shrouded in darkness, he was like a fatherly figure, a teacher|mentor to her so I kind of got that vibe as she thanked him for his final lesson that darkness can always find light and urged him to find peace with Belle.

The OQ scene. We finally got the onscreen confirmation we needed that Robin Hood's soul lives on and that he is always there for Regina. I was happy to note we also got more than a couple lines in, lol, and there was an actual heartfelt conversation between them even if it was just one scene. He always believed in her and gave her that second chance she proved herself worthy of which is what I connected to her speech in the end when she told Emma that it wasn't a HE or a Happy Beginning, but rather about second chances. I think her conclusions on that were inspired by her relationship with Robin Hood and her encounter with him, at least I like to think so and just like he said, just because they were short lived, didn't make them any less epic.

I was okay with Wish Henry's change of heart mostly because he is basically still an alter ego version of our Henry, which connects him to the original. Just like Wish Rumple was the alter ego to our Rumple and Rumple's selfless sacrifice impacted him. So Wish Henry is technically a part of ours, created out of a wish, and would connect to our Henry's feelings on things on some level. Including his perceptions on Regina. I can suspend disbelief.

OMG I have just seen the episode and I can't believe it is all over

It was so beautiful and moving I was in tears

Regina is finally the Queen she has always been now people see her true heart and accept and want her as their Queen

I love that final spell bringing all the realms together.

Rumple's sacrifice was so emotional!
