this is not a spoiler or anything, but just try to watch Allegiant with the context that Lionsgate (the Divergent films producing studio) always intended to make a two part film, Allegiant and Ascendant, and that will ease some of the confusion over parts of the film that seem to go nowhere or don't make sense in the finished film's narrative. Lionsgate fully intended to make Ascendant, but Allegiant made even less boxoffice money than Insurgent did, and Lionsgate kicked Ascendant straight into the trashbin of what if? film history, probably never to be made, at least not with the original cast. the proposed Ascendant tv series is pretty much scraped too. the film cast members said no to a tv series, and there has been no news for over a year. smh.

I still can’t believe we aren’t getting the last one with the same cast if we ever do get one. Such a shame. They should’ve never split it. Greed I tell you.

To me though, I prefer how the movie ended in allegient than the book . I can live with Tris and Four together protecting and fighting for their home. I can just forever pretend the ending of Allegiant never happened
