i normally love the complex characters... but Caleb is just SO complex. i mean him in insurgent is just THE WORSE. looking back, reading when she visited him at erudite... you could get the sense he was different than her and did believe in faction before blood

Even as early on as that scene where she visited him there was a definite change in him even then! He is Faction before Blood all the way. Caleb was horrible in Insurgent!

I think having Ansel playing him makes me like him a bit more but I don't know how much that will help when watching Insurgent!

Nothing can really redeem Caleb in the book. Not even his cute baby face. Even Percy, Ron's pompous ministry-loving brother from Harry Potter, was more redeemable.

He actively worked to destroy Tris.

I am not a fan of Caleb either. I hate that Tris died for him. He was not worth it. I didn't understand why Tobias didn't strangle him for it. Ugh. So sad.

But that being said, I

Ansel. He was sooooo adorable in TFIOS. We went to the Night Before Our Stars on Thursday night. The movie was incredible, but I cried so hard. The book is one of my favorites, and I thought the movie was an excellent representation of it.
