Sandy, ah, I get it now, thanks for explaining

Here the minimum wage is the same in the entire country. It's about $10, depending on the exchange rate but €9,35

Have a good week, everyone

^No problem I had to go get my TB shot looked at today and she cleared me so hopefully I hear soon. I am so excited to sleep at night again ..might make it harder on me and rewatches (give or take if I get out at 2:30 I can watch and post from my phone lol) but I'd definetly comment back quicker.

That's not bad, you guys probably have a lot cheaper cost of living compared to us. I'd rather make less and everything be cheaper because I'm a cheap person

Have a great week everyone . Other than work, does anyone have any plans?

I'm off until Friday, so I'm just taking it easy.

Honestly, the cost of living while cheaper compared to where you are Sandy is cheaper, groceries and other necessities are rising. It makes it difficult for people who work paycheck to paycheck.

^Trust me I get that. I won’t lie my downfall with the hospital is going from weekly to biweekly pay. Everything is rising. Right now I’m glad I don’t have a car $3.29 for gas is crazy, I’d almost rather pay my $15 a week unlimited bus pass. I can go further with a car but the prices are a total turn off.

Over here it seems like the price of living is going up but the minimum wage just stays the same

Any exciting plans this week anyone?

That's how it seems here. Pay goes up but so does state tax and NY kills you in taxes and that doesn't include the tax on the products you buy either

No plans here, I gave my two week today. It was bittersweet though the manager wasn't there so I left it for him but told the person who replaced me to make sure he gets it.

No plans for me other than just chilling and enjoying not having to work until Friday.

You know, I've never worked anywhere that didn't have bi-weekly pay. Weekly pay would be interesting. I will say I don't understand places that do a pay card. I mean how do you pay your bills. I would hate to have to wait for that to be loaded...I'm getting myself anxious over nothing.

I had bi- weekly at Walmart and than my last job was weekly. I like weekly so much easier but that just means I have to pace myself. The pay card isn’t too bad, I usually just pay my bills online with it. I do go through bank now though for direct deposit to my card which is easier yet .

We get paid monthly, I think it's like that mostly in Europe. So everything is scheduled around that. And most of your bills get withdrawn from your bank account automatically if you want, so you need to make sure you have enough money in it.

^That makes sense. Here bills are all over the month which sucks.

Guys so Eric came into today and to see me. At first I half expected him to fire me but he wanted to play "lets make a deal" and in the end we compromised so I'll do the hospital full time and a couple of overnights at the gas station. I wanted off of them completely BUT he had a valid point. We have a cruise in April and there's a high chance I won't get my week off from the hospital whereas he told me I can have it. So now the goal is to do them both and in April if the hospital won't work with me I'll probably give em a two week because I've already spent so much on the cruise, hotels and looking at the flights. I would hate to waste all of that money. He also said that if the hospital doesn't work with me that after my cruise or at any time I can have my full time spot back. So he's willing to meet in the middle so I'm going to hold up my end. Who knows this time next year I may be off of em and done with the gas station completely or still doing third . It'll be nice to have the two checks as well.

I get paid monthly too and I’ve got my biggest outgoing bills to go out within a week of being paid so I don’t have to stress later on in the month.

Aww, it’s good that they’ve give you that option Sandy

^I love that options, I could survive better if ours was like that.

It is, I’m glad he compromised with me and brought up the cruise. Sadly I didn’t even stop to think about that, and the overnights I work will be days off from the hospital so that’ll help out a lot. Very unexpected but in a good way .

I pay certain bills after the first paycheck of the month and certain bills after the second of the month. If I'm having a good month, which is rare, then I may pay bills differently or make an "extra" payment for the month.

I could never do automatic payments especially with working retail and paychecks being bi-weekly. Paydays change all the time and I wouldn't have the money.

Sandy, as much as you don't want to work the gas station and believe me, I totally get that. It sounds like you have a great manager who sees you like an actually human being and not just an employee. Those managers are rare! It's made it hard for me to look for another job because I love my manager at Jo-Ann so much! Plus, I truly love not being just a cashier!

^I get that...I try and pay ahead, especially when I have it because you never know. Especially with how quick places are to not just cut hours but life happening. You can be doing great and fine and bam here comes the flu putting you seriously behind.

Ahh that was the first time he was actually nice to me since November. He made his points valid and really gave me a lot to consider though and that's why I agreed to it. That and I did say if he would work with me I would do it, nobody was expecting him too. The issue is, is nobody wants third shift at the store and when we do have em they're honestly not that reliable so having me there for over two years has been a breath of fresh air and they can go to bed at night knowing the store is covered. I honestly want off third because I never see Amaya anymore. With the school run by the time I get home and get to bed its after 12pm and than I get up about 8pm and she's going to bed. Now she's been acting out a bit and I think that plays apart. Maybe cutting down to two nights is just what was needed. And after April if I can't handle both than I can decide but like my dad said come April and the cruise I'll want to work and get money back and than it'll be September and prepping for Christmas so who knows . Life is weird like that as is the time (it's almost February now can you believe it!? two weeks left ). So hopefully it gets better there.
