So, we have had some heavy rain and the power tried going out early this morning during one of the rain bands. Honestly, I know we're not done with this storm, but it was over hyped as usual. I even got out for a bit to get some food from Jack-in-the-box. The Weight Watchers meeting I attend every Saturday morning was cancelled. We had some of our landscape mulch blow into our driveway. All in all, a major bullet dodged.

So, today will just be a day of rain as the feeder bands continue to come onshore.

So glad it wasn't as bad for you as predicted, Candace the weather seems to be so off these days that it's way better to over predict than under predict. The other day they put us under tornado warnings for absolutely no reason as our thunderstorm wasn't as bad as they said but then again we're not used to tornado's and all of that fun stuff here in CNY.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd rather be over prepared, but one downside is we as a city get complacent when the next storm and finally we get hit and get taken off guard.

Watching the news this morning and much of the city is under water. My sister is going to move her car from her apartment parking lot to her friend's parking garage as my sister's lot is low.

Video of high water rescues is all over the news. My mom works are Bed, Bath and Beyond and they closed the store she works at for the day!

It hasn't stopped raining since like 11 p.m. last night!

What a way to close out August! Rain through the week, schools closed until Tuesday of NEXT week. No stores opened!

How are people gonna get food? That's a long time to go without shopping - I wouldn't have enough food at home for such a long time.

Well, people bought more in the last week, I guess, but still!

I was in Houston 3 years ago, it popped up in my facebook memories. Kinda scary

Yeah, trust me the food is low! Starting to get concerned no joke. I mean we barely have bread. I buy groceries weekly, so supplies are low or non-existent as you can imagine. We do have some stuff on hand that no one really eats thank goodness. The thing is EVERY major freeway is flooded. You can't even drive around if you wanted to!

This is the worst we've ever had after one of these storms.

8:21 a.m. UPDATE: So, the two major grocery chains (Kroger and HEB) near my house are OPEN today, with reduced hours. We are going to see what weekly items we can get and hoping lines aren't too long. My mom just left to check out the situation!

No bread, no chips. As for the other things we were needing, we were able to get what we needed!
