True, it could be worse.. I just don't like how obvious they made it that Kate had to choose between Rick and finding out whoever is behind this. I mean, there's always another way.. leaving kind of implied that she didn't choose Castle, even though she probably just wanted to protect him by leaving. I just don't know how to feel about this

Hopefully it will all make sense soon. I just hope they won't spend half the season apart. At the same time, I can't see Castle forgiving her right away either.

Agreed
as cute as it was in earlier seasons when he tried to win her over, he really shouldn't have to after all these years. She's his wife and she's the one who is walking away. Castle has done nothing wrong, poor guy. And I do understand why Kate is doing this (kind of) but it all kind of seems like a huge step backwards __________________

What do you guys think of the new characters? I really like both. I wasn't sure about Hayley before we saw her but I was pleasantly surprised. I like her sass and attitude. And Vikram seems like he's just a guy whose seriously out of his depth lol. Loved the bit where he told Castle he was so cool, the smug look on Castle's face was so funny

I like Hayley so far
I'm enjoying her scenes with Castle and Alexis. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Vikram. He still seems suspicious to me for some reason __________________

I think he was made to look suspicious for us. Not sure if he really is
I'm not sure if he will be in more episodes, but I guess so? Sunkrish not a regular like Toks. Hayley surprised me, too. I'm not liking her yet, but I'm not so opposed to her as I was in the beginning  It will be interesting how both will fit in the precinct or the Castle universe in general in the future. __________________

I must admit I feel a lot better about the separation storyline after seeing 8x03. They had such great scenes together

I do as well, to a point.
I still see it pointless and as steps back, only now it hurts more because we know how great it would be if they were not separated. I admit, though, that the scenes wouldn't have been so great if they were still together -  the predicament __________________

It does feel that way but at the same time I can't help but think we've been so lucky. They will get through this, and in the mean time it might be nice to see them being reminded of why they fell in love in the first place. I'm just trying to be positive about the situation, although I do understand people's frustration.

Totally agree
it's not an "I'm not in love with you anymore, let's get divorced situation" they still love each other so much. The prison cell moment swayed me more towards this story too.__________________
