^No, I get it. Absentia is more action packed and case focused whereas in Castle we had so many little Beckett hints dropped (orthodontist which means braces, her mom being a lawyer, the comic store etc..). Maybe season 3 will give us a development like that especially if we have more Cal and Emily to come.

I think that was the idea a little with Emily in season one, we were left wondering about who she really was. And I agree Sandy, the show is so action packed that Emily’s personal moments are few and far between, I do however feel like the second half of season 2 there’s progression

agreed Fiona. They're also two different genres so I think Castle being how it is allowed us to see Beckett in different ways . But yes Beckett has set the standard for us
