That's the only thing - or that he did this because Emily asked him to (which only she would know, Nick would not, of course). So, yeah, I think Emily blames herself. So, now, what will she do.

This episode was like a punch in the stomach. Tommy!!! I think being a
Detective was all he really had Damn the writers! I know we all said that we kind of expected Tommy to die but after the first few episodes I thought we were safe.

Poor Emily, I don’t know if she knows his reasons yet but she’s going to feel so guilty. Her crying at the end broke my heart.

I was also super sad about Holt too, he was a great guy and he went out so heroically and Cal lost his friend

I loved the scenes with Emily and the Moldovan lady (can’t remember her name) and Cal and Holt.

I still ship Cal and Emily, I think he really likes her.

That scene in the mine field was so intense.

And Alice and Jack... that is not going to end well at all!!

Also a few scenes in this one reminded me of Castle, when Emily and Cal were trying to force the truck doors open and when Emily said that her mother was murdered. Oh and it shares an episode title with Castle too

I also thought of how Stana HAD to be reminded of Kate in that scene about finding her mother's killer Also the title coincidence went through my head.

Oh, I also forgot - what did Holt mean with 'does she know what you did?' - I wonder about that.

This felt like a finale, of sorts, so I'm really curious where this is going.

I’ve noticed that this episode and the last one are really well directed, especially the scene in the mine field.

I love the mine field scene. But I have to admit, I can't tell if it's well directed. I just see the acting

I also think Cal might have done something immoral of sorts.

I guess I thought it was well directed because you got (or at least I did) the sense of Emily’s disorientation after the explosion with the sounds and the blurriness but I agree a lot was to do with the acting

Just out of curiosity Kathrin, did you know that Tommy would die or did you remain spoiler free? I knew because apparently some people on social media think that as soon as they’ve seen it, it’s not spoiling it for anyone 😒

It sucks Though it did cushion the blow, I was more in shock over Holt’s death because I wasn’t expecting it at all.

Rewatched it this afternoon and it still breaks my heart that Tommy took his own life (well that’s what it looks like, I guess it’s possible that he was murdered and it was staged to look like a suicide though to be honest I think it actually was suicide )

Also I noticed this time that when Holt found Emily and Cal it was because he’d hidden a tracker on Cal at the club.. must have been one hell of a tracker if it was able to withstand being submerged in all that water in the previous episode

I really don’t think it was a cover up either, which makes it even more tragic

As for being a staged suicide - you never know with Absentia, though Nothing is as it seems, although this season was better to 'predict' so far than the first one.

I also noticed that we didn't see Emily drink or take drugs in a long time - that might change now that she's home again and Tommy's death (presumably) weighing her down...

I noticed that too about Emily not needing the crutch of alcohol or drugs in Moldova I hope Tommy’s death will make Emily realise that she can be better... but this show can be brutal so I’m not getting my hopes up
