Kate decided to make a move. She strolled over to talk to him. The man looked at Kate with interest. Blue sparkling eyes met green sad eyes. His interest clearly sparked something with her. She decided to make the first contact. She said, "Hello, what's your name? I'm Kate." He replied, "I am Richard Rodgers. What brings you here?" "Well, this is my birthday, and I wanted to get my favorite drink. How about we go to a table?" She really felt that he was game. Kate couldn't wait any longer. She took a big step toward Rick, but her past issues reared and she stepped back. Rick wondered what was going on. He wanted to ask if everything was ok. Kate paused but decided to tell Rick.
