I'm not completely sure if I want Liz and Tom to be together, but they certainly fascinate me. I'm currently at that middle ground where I don't strongly support one side. Seeing Liz having Tom chained up is really awesome though. I like that she didn't crumble and let him destroy her. I like that she took the power back. I almost think he might respect her because of that.

That threat Red made to Tom at the end of the last episode tells me that we're going to see more development between Tom and Liz. I wonder how Red will feel about that.

Yeah, I feel like Tom is not going to stay away even if Red asked him too. Maybe he can work around Red not knowing.

I definitely agree that Tom is not going to stay away, in fact I strongly suspect he'll be back by the end of the Superbowl episode, because they are going to throw everything and the kitchen sink into that episode to make the most of all those additional eye balls. Tom is a huge draw and they are not going to leave him out of sight. As to how he'll come back, I see two possibilities:

1) He'll have defied Red and appear in time to save Liz's life.

OR

2) Red will be placed into a position where he will have no choice but to call Tom to save Liz.

I predict that Tom will prove himself by the end of 2x10, doing something that will convince either Red or Liz to keep Tom around as an asset of some kind. My personal hope would be that he takes over for Ezra as Liz's bodyguard. I also think that's Red's "stay away" edict will be revoked either at Liz's insistence or because Red will grudgingly realize Liz is safer with Tom in her life.

On Ryan's and Meghan's basketball game photo, I couldn't be more pleased. Whether their relationship is real or simply a publicity stunt the result is ultimately the same: public perception of the two of them as a pair. The twitter messages between them are the same, with Ryan asking Megan to marry him and if they still have a shot as a couple after she chained him up in a boat. That is pairing promotion and it means only good things for Liz/Tom shippers.

Incidentally I saw a recent interview with Megan that asks if the relationship with Ressler was romantic and she said it was more of a partners bond, and likened to the feeling of "brotherhood" you find between soldiers. My take on that is that they are shying away from romantic overtones on the Liz/Ressler front until they see how popular Liz/Tom becomes when Tom is revealed to have genuine feelings for Liz. I'm really hoping Tom gets some awesome moments of badass heroism in 2x09 and 2x10 because he's got a lot of mainstream audience hate to work off. Come on writers, show Tom a little love here!
