I think Red very well knew that Tom would come back to safe Liz. In killing the harbor master, the only person that could have saved him from that hole, he showed everybody that he was protecting Liz. That he cared, maybe even loved her... So Red knew, he would come back. I think the only thing that kept him saying no was Red's involvement because he was done with him.
 At least that was my impression.__________________

Yeah I think you are right but what I am still wondering is why Tom never told Liz that he worked for Red. He didn't care about Red so why not tell Liz?

I think Miranda is talking about telling her before this episode...
And I was wondering the same. Maybe because he was afraid that Red might kill him?  __________________

I don't know. She's learned that everything about him was a lie. Sound familiar. That he kept secrets from her. That he won't tell her anything. Seems like it would be a good thing for him to tell her about his life.

Maybe you are right Kris. Maybe he really didn't want to hurt her but I can't shake the feeling he didn't tell her to save his own skin.

Yeah, I know what you mean... I can't shake this feeling either. But he came back for her, he really would have gone to prison because he didn't know what Red knew. Which is that they'd drop the case and make it look as if nothing every happened.

I am sure he had a plan.
But I also think he had a change of heart in S2 when he came forward in the harbormaster case. If he didn't really love her, he would have never come back. __________________
