He's so honest in the field because he never seems like a trained agent. His nervousness shows because he is not a field agent. Yet he's courageous because he does it anyway.

Yes you can definitly tell that he is not a trained field agent. So I wonder if he ever got the training he asked Cooper. I am guessing he didn't..

I'm with Marilyn here. I really think he got trained.
 He was just uncomfortable lately when he was out in the field with Liz because it was something they were doing without the team knowing about it... I think otherwise he would have been fine. Better than normally. __________________

I think he was. He can be naive sometimes but he is not dumb. I am sure he knew that they were doing something that wasn't approved by Cooper or the Bureau.
