I know exactly what you mean... When I re-watched episode 2x02 and Mr. Kaplan came to clean up that scene, it felt so wrong to me... Their talk, him grabbing her shoulder, her grabbing his hand and comforting him.

Man, so wrong.

Yes, I think this their biggest mistake, too... And if she had to, I think they should have let her die or in the end simply be happy that she's still alive and leave it with that.
