We knew there was no way Dembe would do anything to betray Red even though he never approved of Red trying to kill Mr Kaplan. I can see why he went on the run because he knew Red would kill him too. This way he was trying to prove his innocence, excellent episode

Janice, I can totally understand that Dembe disappeared to find evidence that he wasn't behind this but somebody else but I don't think that Red would have killed him tbh and I don't think that Dembe thought that either.

I totally get why Dembe left as well
It was his only chance to prove to Red that he didn't do it and maybe he even intended at first to save Red's life, too... He know it was a matter of life and death and maybe he hoped to find the person responsible before the others did.__________________

I am still a little confused about one thing. Dembe didn't poison the scotch but he did pour he drink. Did he know before he pour it that it was poisoned or not?

No he didn't know until Red collapsed. I would love to know how he figured out it was the scotch and not the wine. I wish the writers would have said.

Did he know that it was the Scotch from the beginning? I doubt that, really. I'm sure he went after some people, too and tried to figure out who it was. He knew that it could only have been the person behind all the further attacks and so he thought he could not only prove his innocence but also who it is that is trying to kill his dearest friend.

That's true... I as well think he knew somehow.
I just don't know how.And hm... Not sure at all on what Dembe has been up to all the time. I wish we'd know, find out what he did and how he figured it all out. It's really a mystery to me. __________________
