I think it's weird that she seeks validation from Meredith for living an adult life (based on what Ellen said in the interview).
Given the uproar against Meredith after she pulled the plug without calling them (after he had mentioned he'd want them to be there 10 years ago), I'm pretty disappointed they don't show up. Amelia has always been the baby of the family, they should show up and get to know the adult her.

Regarding Derek's comment in season 1 about wanting all his sisters there, the "fans" criticizing Meredith have this all wrong. The patient Derek was referencing was the rape victim who was in a coma fighting for her life ... she woke up by the end of the episode!

This is a very, very different scenario than what Meredith arrived to after Derek's accident - he was already brain dead. He was gone. Meredith herself didn't get to say goodbye to him. This was not a patient struggling to hold on ... it was over.

During the series in multiple episodes, if you watch carefully and listen to what Derek the neurosurgeon says, he tells the families of many brain dead patients their loved ones are already gone and there's no chance.

Besides, Amelia not only screamed at Mer for not calling her (because, you know, Meredith wasn't in a state of utter shock and despair herself), but she also implied she might have been able to save Derek which really crossed the line. Not only was he already brain dead because Mer got there too late due to Derek being labeled as a John Doe, but Amelia would (of course) never, ever been allowed to treat her own brother. So her saying that to Meredith was just a stab in Meredith's heart to make Mer feel guilty that maybe Mer somehow didn't do everything she could to prevent Derek's death (SO AWFUL). Amelia was out of line there and made Meredith, a grieving widow, break down. For that, I will never forgive her.

I couldn't stand Amelia most of the time this season and well last season. Her attitude, and everything really puts me off..

I hope there won't be any annoying drama between them next season. Mer will have Maggie acting like a child I bet next season.

It's so sad that people are faulting her for something she didnt do because she couldnt. It's not like she did it deliberately to hurt them. She just couldnt. And didnt Mer fainted when she uttered the words "Derek is dead"
