I just want to state officially that Derek Shepherd would be so proud of who his Meredith Grey is today in season 12. She is displaying courage and strength at every turn. That is indeed the woman he fell in love with.

This nonsense that she is unrecognizable (mostly perpetuated by those not watching the show anymore) is flat out inaccurate. People are understandably hurt over losing MerDer and Patrick not being on the show anymore, but trying to undercut who Meredith Grey is and Ellen's brilliant portrayal of her this season is not the way to handle it.

Somewhere, Derek is watching over her and is in awe of how brave she is (not to mention wanting the best for her).

Preach, she's still the same Meredith. Strong and amazing. And trying to move forward with her life. What's wrong with that? Nothing will ever take away from the love and everything she shared with Derek. What some really want for her to be miserable, depressed and in pain? Come on.. it will get boring for the character and more for Ellen, she deserves much more than to play the sad, lonely widow for the next seasons. The show and her story of course it's going to go on! Like Justin's and Kevin's, when Katie and Sandra left.
