Raw Discussion April 24

from wwe.com

Before the Backlash
April 24, 2006

While flying over the Atlantic Ocean on his way to London Thursday afternoon, Mr. McMahon had an epiphany. The Chairman will no longer be sacrificing his son Shane in a Handicap Match against Shawn Michaels and "God" this Monday night. Instead, his son Shane will be facing HBK in one-on-one action on RAW. However, the tag team match pitting Mr. McMahon & Shane vs. HBK & "God" at Backlash will still happen as scheduled.

Also on RAW this week, Jonathan Coachman will host a RAW Bikini Contest, featuring the sexy Candice, Maria, Torrie Wilson and Victoria.

There will be immense pressure on Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin when RAW emanates from London. Their Backlash match is now “Winner Take All” with both the “Money in the Bank” briefcase and the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Shelton is desperate to protect his gold, while RVD refuses to lose his coveted world championship opportunity. What will these two competitors do to gain an edge before their stipulation-rich pay-per-view encounter?

The former World Tag Team Champion have each dropped the other with a chokeslam on RAW. Will they clash again before their Backlash match … and god help anyone who mentions Kane’s movie release date of May 19.

With McMahonism sweeping WWE, how will Shawn Michaels respond on RAW? And what will Mr. McMahon do after seemingly receiving some unwanted signs from above last week?

The past two weeks, Trish Stratus has had some mind games of her own for obsessed, psycho Women’s Champion Mickie James. Will Trish have another Mickie-like plan for the last RAW before their Women’s Championship Match at Backlash?

Catch all this and much more on Monday Night RAW (9/8 CT; USA Network).

Meh Raw.

Decent six-man tag match, from the half I saw of it. Nice to hear "Let's go Haas" chants for a brief bit.

Shane totally whiffed on that "elbow" through the table. Which was probably a good thing for both guys, considering how awkward (even for a McMahon) it looked.

Umaga still sucks. They should have just kept Rosey and reunited 3MW.

The "Lita's a ho" jokes are tired. Cena/Flair/Foley/HHH have been making them multiple times a Raw since like November... it's time for a break, WWE. Other than that, I mostly liked the title scene/build.

Raw was OK.

The six-man tag match was enjoyable. I'm so glad Charlie Haas is back.

Didn't get to watch RAW tonight. Yeah, the Lita chants are getting boring as much as her storyline with Edge. Did they finally break up or are they still together?

Ah, so that's what this whole May 19 thing was about. Kane's movie debut. Oh well

Ditto on getting tired of Lita's current storyline. They need to put her back in the ring.

Trish and Mickie segment in the ring was funny.

Enjoyed the six man tag-team at the end of the show. Cena, HHH and Edge working temporarily together against Spirit Squad. < --- "athletically annoying.." LMAO Micky, the one that dances alot reminds me of Scotty 2 Hotty for some reason.

Could have done without the Divas bathing suit segment.

Wow...they are really promoting Kane's movie ALOT. Seems good though, I love horror movies and they sure picked the right villain for the part.

^ ^. I second that...Kane does make a great villan for his movie.

And yes, RAW was good enough without pillow fights and bathing suit contests. Why did Victoria had to be part of it is beyond my understanding. I mean...I guess it was all right back then when the divas were actual wrestlers (Luna Vachon, Sable, The Kat, Torrie...most of the divas that were around the Attitude Era) and if they had done it once in a great while. Maybe summer time. But no...we're gonna have another RAW Diva contest.

Sorry, I was just watching my WWF DVD on its funniest moments and I remember that bathing suit contest in which Mae Young showed her puppies (Yeah, it was censored and a bit disturbing but it was hillarious either way when they announced that she won and all the divas were pissed)
