Revolutionary New Year

One night after New Year’s Revolution, Raw rolls into St. Louis to sort out the fallout of 2007’s first pay-per-view.

Mr. McMahon presents Donald vs. Rosie. They will finally settle their bitter rivalry live on Raw.
Samoan Bulldozered

John Cena’s resolution at New Year’s Revolution was to halt Umaga’s unbeaten streak and retain his WWE Championship. The Champ was true to his word—despite a veritable onslaught from the Samoan Bulldozer, Cena clearly stunned Umaga, manager Armando Estrada, and those watching the pay-per-view with a win that has to be seen again to be believed. But is the rivalry between these two Superstars truly over, or will Umaga seek payback in St. Louis tonight?
DX-acting revenge... but at what price?

Edge & Randy Orton conspired to take D-Generation out for good at New Year’s Revolution to defend their World Tag Team Championship and assume their co-called rightful place at the top of WWE. But rather than strip Rated-RKO of their title, Triple H & Shawn Michaels took much more satisfaction out of beating Edge and Orton within an inch of their lives. Unfortunately, DX also didn’t walk away unscathed; The Game suffered a torn quadriceps tendon, an injury that may ultimately give Edge & Orton exactly what they wanted. Rated-RKO plans to bring down the house in St. Louis as they celebrate what they see as a victory over The Game and HBK.

Kenny's climb
Fresh off of his huge victory over Ric Flair at New Year’s Revolution, 20-year-old Kenny Dykstra will face Jeff Hardy for the Intercontinental Championship. If he is victorious, Dykstra will become the youngest Superstar ever to wear the Intercontinental gold.

New challenges await on Raw tonight at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

The Great Khali scares me. I miss Big Show.

Take out Maria and have a triple threat match against Mickie vs Melina vs Victoria. That be some good wrestling right there.

Glad Jeff retained the title. Although it hurts to see him wrestle....again.

Hardy/Kenny was fun, but Jeff does look like he's hurting.

This Trump/Rosie stuff is worse than the Federline crap. Good for the crowd for ripping it apart.

Okay, that Rated RKO/HBK promo was bad ass.

Whoever they add in as Shawn's new partner ('cause you know he's going to get one) better be able to live up to his end of the deal, because this feud has been the best part of Raw lately and the intensity is just awesome right now.

Well, I think we can put the Hogan/Big Show rumors to rest.

It is going to be Khali vs. Cena at Wrestlemania. Trust me. They can drag this out for four months... Especially if they have Cena drop the strap to Khali at a PPV before WM putting the face (Cena) in the hunt for the championship where he wins it back at WM. It would be more dramatic this way then Cena just defending it.

RE: DX...

I have a feeling this is over. I don't think they are going to give Shawn a partner as far as a new DX member goes. Even the fans want DX to finally end.

For story purposes they will give him a partner for the match next week, but the DX gimmick has run its course. This is why I said on the NYR thread it is actually better that HHH hurt his knee because this gets creative out of trying to dissolve DX either before, or right after WM. It is now just dissolved, period, and can allow HBK to do other things after he and whomever destroy Rated RKO next week.

In fact, what I would do if I were creative is this:

Eight man tag next week. Cena, HBK, Ric Flair, mystery partner (maybe RVD) vs. Kahli, Umaga and Team RKO. Ends in a DQ when HBK uses chair to take out RKO and then Kahli gets his hands on HBK and slams him on the steel steps/ramp effectively putting HBK out of action for a while. Khali then decimates John Cena (again) further sending the message he should be the champion.

This takes care of finishing the DX fued, wraps up the Cena/Umaga fued, frees up HBK and puts Khali over as the unstoppable force and legitimate threat to Cena's title which sets up Cena possibly losing the strap before WM, so Cena can be in the hunt and win it back.

If Hogan wants Show and Show is healthy, Hogan will get Show. They both want the pay day and the WWE wants Hogan on this WM card (probably even more so with H out); they, as usual, will cater to whatever he wants to get it done.

I really don't think it's going be Cena/Khali either. He's just fodder, like Umaga, that we all have to suffer through in the quest to build Cena up.

Edit: Also, I'm not talking about DX continuing; DX is dead because of H's injury regardless of what the WWE teases. I'm talking about HBK finding someone else to fight Rated RKO with for now, because there's no way this is done just yet; it's at least got through the Rumble and I'm betting on Edge/HBK being spun off for WM to really finish it (as Edge doesn't exactly have any other 'name' face options left and he's way above MITB, IMO). As long as Shawn's knee remains a pain management issue like it has since last spring and not a make-it-worse issue, I can't see him taking off for an extended length of time right now. Raw is a mess and it can't take the hit of losing him too while it tries to drive the Road to WM.

This is why I now predict Khali vs. Cena because it is a title match (WWE Championship) for the RAW side if it happens.

They want Hulk Hogan on the card (probably even more so with H out) and Hulk Hogan wants to be on it. That's all it boils down to in WWE land.

If Show is still too out of it to go, I wouldn't be surprised if Khali ended up taking on Hogan because it's all about re-living the Andre match for the Hulkster this year.

I didn't really want to say anything, but that was the worst episode of Raw that I had seen in a long time. Even Vince broke character and looked at the crowd like saying, "I guess this was a really bad idea."

The St. Louis crowd definitely let Vince know what they thought of that Rosie/Trump parody. I'm inclined to agree with them. That was sheer nonsense. Sometimes I think Vince is smoking something.

While watching that segment and hearing the crowds reaction, I remember the part of Vince's dvd where Vince was talking about he comes up with ideas for the show and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. When it doesn't work, he's like, "Oh well, I tried!. Moving right along."
