| ^ ^ thanks for the posting that article. I'm excited and kind of nervous for the Ladder match. I'm sure it's going to be great but it makes me nervous to think what Jeff and others have in mind to out do each other. Minor note, I noticed on Raw this past week that Jeff's hair has gotten really long. Random yes but something I noticed. ![]() Another thing too, I'd love to see a Sting vs Jeff match. I think it would be a hella interesting match....Sting has always been one of my favorites. ![]() __________________ "I don't think anybody should wear it. That's a number that he made famous. | I figured to post these articles here! Sibling Rivalry? Are there any two people in WWE who are closer than Matt and Jeff Hardy? Beyond the cliché that blood is thicker than water, the Hardy brothers grew up wrestling each other in their backyard in Cameron, N.C., dreaming of one day competing in WWE. Their dream came true while they were still teenagers. Since their debut, the brothers have risen to the top of sports-entertainment. This Sunday, Matt and Jeff will face each other, along with six other Superstars, in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 23. Even though the brothers worked together at this year’s Royal Rumble, both were eliminated before having to turn on each other. Matt and Jeff have each said they plan on working together again, but both realize there can only be one winner on April 1. While the brothers are focused on winning the opportunity for a title match anywhere, anytime, each claims if they can’t be the winner, they hope the other is. But do they mean it? Can brothers who have shared so much, including five WWE Tag Championships, deal with the reality of one having the Money in the Bank, and one not? WWE.com delved deeper into their past looking for proof. As is common with brothers, growing up Matt and Jeff shared many things. Matt enjoyed the spoils of being the older of the two. However, Matt can recall the first time Jeff had something that he didn’t. The two were avid skateboarders, and were saving money to upgrade from their “cheap starter boards.” “Jeff actually got one for his birthday,” said Matt. “It was a real cool one at that time. It was a Jinx skateboard, and it had special trucks and wheels. We’d be out playing around and he could ride better and do tricks a lot better. It was one of the first times he had something a little cooler than me.” Matt went on to say that he eventually got a better skateboard too, and was never really jealous or upset at his brother for having the better skateboard. Years later, Jeff would find himself in a similar situation. Matt had gotten a practically new Honda CRX when he first got his license, but when Jeff’s time came, he was stuck with a Dodge Aries K-car. “I felt kind of like a nerd driving to school,” recalled Jeff. “That was one thing he had that I didn’t have, but his grades were always better than mine, so he probably deserved it more than me,” admitted Jeff. “I totaled the Aries not too long after I got it too, so it kind of worked out.” The brothers are older now, and say they are closer than ever. Another thing they share is the excitement of competing in front of the massive Detroit crowd Sunday at the biggest event in sports-entertainment. It seems that no matter what happens in Money in the Bank, they really will be happy for each other should one of them win. - wwe.com __________________ "I don't think anybody should wear it. | Following Matt Hardy - Day 2 March 29, 2007 As a child growing up in the suburbs of North Carolina, Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff dreamed of one day competing in the Mecca of sports-entertainment—World Wrestling Entertainment. At age 18, Matt achieved that goal, competing with WWE. He and Jeff went on to form The Hardys, capturing numerous tag team championships as well as the respect and admiration of the WWE fans. Now Matt is all grown up and has matured into a well-rounded, level headed SmackDown Superstar fueled by competition. His dream of competing at WrestleMania has once again become a reality. WWE.com will follow Matt Hardy all week before he steps into the ring to face seven other Superstars, including Jeff, in hopes of earning the opportunity to compete for a World Championship. What does the frenzy of WrestleMania do to Matt’s life? Check with WWE.com through the week leading up to WrestleMania 23 to find out. 8:23 a.m. - Rise and Shine ![]() Sleepless nights become more frequent as WrestleMania approaches. With a hectic appearance schedule paired with the lingering reality that his WrestleMania match could potentially end his career, Matt Hardy gazes out the window of his limousine with a cup of coffee in hand before his 9 a.m. appearance at Michigan’s Western International High School. “I got about four hours of sleep last night,” said a bleary-eyed Hardy. “I finally went to bed around 3:30 a.m. and then got back up around 7:15.” 10:11 a.m. - Ladies and Gentleman: Matt Hardy ![]() As he emerged from behind the curtain to a raucous ovation from Western International’s 9th Grade Academy, all of Matt’s drowsiness evaporated. “I don’t have to manufacture a story when I talk to these kids; I only have to tell the kids about my life,” he said. And that’s exactly what he did. Speaking to the awestruck crowd, he answered questions ranging from how much longer he’ll perform in WWE, what it will be like to compete against Jeff at WrestleMania 23 and what his favorite aspects of his job are. “The best part about being in WWE is that I followed my dream. Whatever you have as a dream, don’t let anyone tell you it can’t happen; give it your all. If you’re not giving it your all, you’re robbing yourself.” 10:36 a.m. - Turning the Tables ![]() Matt turned the tables and began asking the kids questions. Curious about their future plans, Matt hopped off stage and asked students what it is they wanted to do with their lives. There were future doctors, nurses, animators and of course, WWE Superstars, scattered throughout the audience. Matt’s advice to them —never give up, especially when the chips are down. “Life is like a wrestling match; a lot of times things are looking good and then something happens and you’re fighting from underneath.” 11:05 a.m. - An Emotional Moment ![]() Following Matt’s appearance, 16-year old Deanna Huff broke down in tears when the SmackDown Superstar granted her an autograph. The lifelong Hardy fan had gotten wind that Matt would be at the school, and waited patiently for two hours in the parking lot for her opportunity to approach her idol for his signature. - wwe.com __________________ "I don't think anybody should wear it. What does the frenzy of WrestleMania do to Matt’s life? Check with WWE.com through the week leading up to WrestleMania 23 to find out. No Plan B ![]() Matt Hardy never had a plan B. There was no question in the North Carolina native’s mind that when he grew up there was only one profession he’d accept. “There was never a point where I said ‘I’m going to quit my dream of becoming a wrestler.’ I never lost the faith. There were times when I said prayers that my dreams would come true, but there was never a point where I didn’t believe Jeff and I would eventually be in WWE.” The Hardys ![]() Many WWE fans credit The Hardys with the evolution of the tag team division. However, the high flying duo’s breathtaking aerial maneuvers and numerous tag team championships represent more to Matt than a solidified position alongside WWE’s most notable twosomes. “Jeff and I had each other. When I was hurt the other would pick up the slack; if one of us was down the other would pick the other one up. It was the most amazing support system ever. With the two of us together we felt there were no odds we couldn’t overcome.” Parting Ways, 1:30 p.m. ![]() Matt and Jeff drove to SmackDown’s live event in Grand Rapids, Mich. together. With WrestleMania 23 the next stop and the brothers facing the inevitability that they’ll be forced to compete against one another, the two decided it would be best to drive to Detroit separately. Matt said he understood the gravity that his match at WrestleMania 23 represents, and said he was going to use the two-hour drive as a way to begin getting focused. Arrival, 4:25 p.m. ![]() The home of WrestleMania 23 is anything but ordinary. Days before the event will take place, Ford Field has the aura of WrestleMania III — an overwhelming magic engrained in the air. Matt Hardy is trying to remain at peace before he puts his championship hopes on the line. “On Sunday I’m going to sacrifice my body, take chances and it’s going to be dangerous. Getting out of the car, my lower back tightened up. I’m sore as hell right now. I did an international tour of the Caribbean three weeks ago, maintained a full schedule in the U.S. with SmackDown, went to Mexico with SmackDown and then I came back and wrestled on Raw and SmackDown. That takes a huge toll on your body… but it’s all worth it. We only have one shot in this life, and you have to make the most of it. WrestleMania is one of those nights that you live your whole life for.” - wwe.com __________________ "I don't think anybody should wear it. That's a number that he made famous. He's greatness. | |||
