Luke Evans is on Twitter, right? Hopefully he's more active than Tom and will post when he's headed to set. In theory his character should have as much screentime as Tom's, but the film might focus on Robert more than Wilder and Royal, I don't know.

That's what I was thinking and answers my question on the shifting. Maybe they'll stick with Robert and have Wilder and Royal on the side as supporting characters?

Well,there are some seperate scenes for the different characters,so it is possible that Tom is already filming some scenes.
Because he is doing the Hank Williams movie in october and filming as far as I know usually last 4 to 5 months.
So,maybe Tom films now and leaves in september to prepare for his other film

That would be a fair explanation, too. I don't know what other projects Luke Evans and Jeremy Irons have after this, perhaps Tom's schedule is tighter.
They did. I was actually surprised to find out that Laing's POV wasn't the only/main one once I started reading the book. The story does open and closes with him, though.

Could be! I can see the preparations he has to get for ISTL to be pretty demanding, so he could have started filming a couple weeks prior to everyone else.
