I don't see how he's a villian. He did something for the greater good and to elevate himself. Which many characters, especially Liv have done themselves. Liv was doing that episodes ago so he just did it for himself IMO.

It's not that cut and clear for me but I see why you'd say that. He did kill an innocent man though, he wasn't cornered as he was when he killed Cyrus's husband. Seems to me this won't end well for him.

Tbh I didn't really think he was planning to kill him, I thought he was back to his "father" because sometimes you end up really alone and you turn to your family, even if they're actually terrible. Your theory might on point though.

I'm sorry I'm never trying to be rude when I give my opinion but I just don't get for the life of me why when Jake does something it's held to different standards. EVERYONE. ON. THE. SHOW. HAS. KILLED. PEOPLE. including innocent ones. I don't see people talk like this for Huck and Cyrus who love bloodshed, Huck revels in bathing in other's blood (evidenced by the jurors and when Jake walked in on him after murdering all those people for Maya) and Cyrus killed a PREGNANT WOMAN and was fine with letting a church blow up killing many innocent people. I don't agree with Jake when he has had to kill someone but the few times he did it it was to protect someone or for the greater good, not for selfish reasons or as a way to get off. When he killed James, it had to be done to protect the Republic and Fitz. He felt bad about it and Cyrus tried to kill his own husband twice himself! I've been realized on this show everyone is dirty and almost everyone has murdered someone and for WORSE reasons than Jake. Anyway, Jake will be fine. If I had a dollar for every time someone thought it would end badly for Jake, I would be a multi billionare. He's not going anywhere, and many more people will get murdered on Scandal by other people like they always have. Jake isn't the only one that has killed someone on this show.

I totally understand. I wasn't trying to be hard on Jake or judgemental of him though. I do recognize people don't ever give him a break, it's annoying. He's the only one who never ever gets a free pass, whereas everyone else gets away with killing pregnant women and old hospitalized ladies and the fandom still loves them.

Jake is somewhat of a tragic character who is not a bad person, but has done bad things. Plus he's pulse racing hot.

Those double standards again So many characters have teamed up with enemies or people they hate for something else or the greater good. All of them, including Fitz have teamed up with Hollis even after all his blackmail and blowing up a building killing many people. Liv and Mellie team up sometimes, Fitz has worked with Rowan (and still has yet to go after him after he murdered his son) works with Jake even after he killed Cyrus's husband (but hell Cyrus has tried to kill James twice himself so *Kanye shrug*) They all still work with Cyrus after all his corrupt actions and murders, or him even throwing Liv to the slaughter. Mellie and Liz have worked together even after she threw Mellie under the bus to Fitz. All the times OPA (especially Huck and Quinn) worked with Charlie even though he killed thier PREGNANT client Amanda Tanner, and he's the one that hit Huck over the head with the pipe and locked him in that box. Set Quinn up for murder and tricked her into B613. She works with him even after finding out he had a kill card and was gong to take her out. David still works with Liv and OPA after they literally ruined his life and career. Hmmm, the time they worked with Maya (a known terrorist) to help get Liv back with the auction.

Anyway Isis like most of the characters on the show, Jake is a grey character (and it is the same with his relationship with Liv) he has killed before BUT what some love to continue to ignore (while ignoring facts) is that the times we saw him do that it was either to protect someone or for the greater good. Jake has also been shown to be loyal to people, even ones that have screwed him over like Fitz (especially when he was fine with letting him either go to prison for something he didn't do or kill him cause he was simply jealous over his relationship with Liv. So if Jake ends up doing something to Fitz then that's karma for what Fitz did to him last season but I don't think Jake will do anything ruthless to Fitz. He's loyal to him even though he doesn't deserve it) Liv, David, Huck, Quinn, etc. He's put himself on the line or stuck up for them many times. Saved Liv's life twice, almost died for her a couple of times, defended Huck to Liv and Quinn, saved David's life and really put himself out there with that worthless B613 trial, gave Quinn a place to stay when Huck kicked her out of OPA and looked out for her, etc. I don't see him working with Rowan, he's using him to elevate himself. Rowan is out cause Liv let him out like it's no big deal and is still having play dates with him after he killed her friend Harrison and Fitz's son (which Jake found out all by himself) but Fitz and Liv act like they could care less for Rowan paying for all that when it affected them the most. Anyway, not a normal day if Jake isn't held to different standards even though their all guilty and way worse. The real bad and evil people on the show are Rowan, Huck, and Cyrus, who are perfectly fine with murder to get what they want and to save thier own asses. Acting like complete sociopaths all the time. Hell Rowan let his daughter rot when she was kidnapped and killed an innocent child just to settle a score (and he's shown NO GUILT over that, even as a father!) Cyrus tried to kill James twice, was gong to let Liv be blown up, and a church explode. Huck tortured his friend and temporary FB Quinn. Jake hasn't done anything close to that or revels in it so he's not a black and white bad person.

It amazes me that it seems like I'm the only one that gets this about the show, which has been set up since S1 *shrugs* Then again I know the deal, some do this with Jake cause he's Liv's love intrest, nothing more while ignoring or defending worse on the show.
