"Scandal" stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, Guillermo Diaz as Huck, Darby Stanchfield as Abby Whelan, Katie Lowes as Quinn Perkins, Tony Goldwyn as President Fitzgerald Grant, Jeff Perry as Cyrus, Bellamy Young as First Lady Mellie Grant, Joshua Malina as David Rosen, Scott Foley as Jake Ballard, Portia De Rossi as Elizabeth North and Cornelius Smith Jr as Marcus Walker.

Guest cast TBA.

The Candidate" was written by Alison Schapker and directed by Allison Liddi Brown.

I´m afraid David is gonna cheat on her with Elisabeth. I don´t trust David in women affairs.

That´s true. But not only the men, women aren´t trustworthy either.

Great point!

I think for the most part, Susan and David are the most admirable characters on the show though. They have pretty great morals as compared to everyone else.

Good that Olivia is smart enough to know what readers would want to know if they are reading the Mellie Grant book... I agree with Olivia on that. I sure want to know!

Huck enjoying a soccer game, nice to know it's his son he's watching.

I loved Mellie turning the tracks back to Olivia. Mellie doesn't know why she stays and Olivia doesn't know why she left. There is never a simple answer.
The real answer was that the three of them worked, which is why she stayed and if she wants to be the President, that is nothing she cannot admit to the public.

Mellie telling Olivia to get a therapist.

Bellamy Young and Kerry Washington really does so well in these scenes between Mellie and Olivia.
Mellie has a point in their conversation though. Mellie and Fitz had an actual 23 year relationship even if a lot was bad, they did have some good times too (before the series of course). Fitz and Olivia love each other but never were in a real relationship for a long time. It was mostly sneaking around.

Nice Susan and David scenes!

I agree with Mellie and Cyrus, doesn't matter what they do, they are forever married to Olivia and Fitz.

I loved Mellie and Olivia drinking and talking about their real feelings about the affair. lol They just have this odd relationship. lol
Just to see them both finally admit some of the reasons to doing why they did what they did.

It also confirmed that what I always thought of Olitz relationship from Liv's point of view.

I guess this is the start of a Lillian and Fitz relationship.

I really feel for Marcus.

He's trying to find out things, and fit in, in his own way.
Olivia helped Mellie with her book in every way possible and she is definitely helping her with her Presidency run.

Also the ending scene, no shock there for me. lol No way I believed Cyrus when he said it was a death in the family.

I was in a rush to leave when I watched the episode, but it seemed pretty good to me! Loving the Mellivia, they're amazing and I hope it lasts. I found it very fitting, them admitting the reason one stayed and the other left is the same. It was pretty clear but it's good we all know now.
I'm glad Fitz is hooking up with the journalist instead of Abbie

DAVID OMG. I thought he was actually breaking up with Liz but he actually persuaded Susan and now he's staying with the wicked witch? NOT GOOD.
