Definitely. She will be furious that he put himself at risk, but she *might* understand once she hears about her grandchild. So hard to say with Catherine.

Without Marie, Francis would never know about what Mary intended to do, and he didn't believe his mother about Mary's love for him. He would have never gone to Mary and tell her about the voided prophecy.

Also it will always be Mary's choice and that's what Francis represented. He didn't say you HAVE to marry me, he said ITS YOUR CHOICE.

If Marie wasn't there with her BBB, where do you think Reign will be now? Mary and Bash traipsing together, supposedly married and of course, Mary will be strip of her queenly status as she 'married' a bastard frown upon by the Catholic Scots. In fact, her half-brother would have wanted Mary marry a bastard as he will be elevated to regency, making him King of Scotland. Nobody wants a tainted queen. Why do you think a queen or a princess' virtue is so well-guarded during those times?

And if Mary and Bash did come to Scotland, even at the shores of Scotland, they will be beheaded on sight. I hear a-clamoring for Bothwell now, lol.

Would Catherine dare smack the King, though? She's smarter than that. She needs to stay in Francis' good graces, so even if she was angry/annoyed, she'd play it differently.
