didn't the real Diane/Catherine almost have a frienemy relationship?

Well I think legitimization is a bit out of the picture now. Henry would never go along with it, and the pope would never agree to it. Especially considering Henry (and the Pope) wants the English throne, and would never acknowledge Elizabeth T as queen because he considers her a bastard

I hope they brought it up to stir trouble for Diane and Henry, tbh. I don't like that they'd just sweep the legitimization SL under the rug. There has to be some consequences for Diane wanting this for Bash, I think. Or a consequence for Bash if he accepts.

I agree. It was seem silly to constantly bring up the legitimization process and then do nothing with it. I think there will definitely be consequences for Diane; however, Bash never really seemed to want to be legitimized anything so I don't know what he could be penalized for.

If Bash accepts then I don't know, it's all going to mess up his relationship with Francis. It's actually already strained now.

I don't think they would execute Diane-- at least, not while the King is alive. Historically, she was forced out after the King died, but she wasn't put to death.
