kinda? My god that's the one thing The CW sucks at. Look at other show like The Flash, Arrow or even Supernatural, they got lots of promotion. I wish they would do it the same for every shows.

But wouldn't spending a little make it worth it in terms of being able to charge more for the commercials and at least on M3, there are ALOT of commercials per episode.

It's like the CW let the promotion to CBS but they only care about Jane the Virgin.

It's just the way the CW works. They are putting all their marketing into their higher rated shows like Arrow, Flash, TVD, Supernatural, ect.

They don't realize that those shows are already doing well and don't need tons of marketing thrown at them. Their other shows need marketing to draw in new viewers.

The CW has never been good at marketing and because of that most of their good shows go by the wayside....

all shows need marketing even the good ones. And CW shows, even their best ones i.e. flash, don't get tons of marketing when compared to shows on ABC, CBS and the like because the CW doesn't have as much money to throw around.

When reign came in at .4 in the demo with the season premiere I'm pretty sure the CW thought why bother. It's not as if reign didn't have good ratings at the beginning of season one. Reign was scoring a .7 in the demo this time last year. It was the decrease in quality that led to viewers tuning out.

I think period dramas are always potentially strong and just really need the right support from the network. I mean there's a whole audience, including me, that would watch anything as long as it has costumes. I get that Reign is expensive for the CW's standards, but if they're afraid they won't have the budget for the promotion they probably shouldn't bother to plan a period piece in the first place.

that's why reign started off strong, but the costumes weren't enough to keep viewers when the sls became crappy
