Will is awesome. I can't believe how much I like Darnley. I was so expecting to hate his guts from the start! But he's sexy and fun and his chemistry with Mary is crazy. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all goes.

I'm also curious about this Keira situation. I wonder if they will go the mistress route with her or kinda make her some stalker type.

I bet it will be even more interesting after Darnley and Mary are married and he flips the switch. When they were racing their horses at the beginning of the last episode and he told Mary that he "let" her win the race, but that once he is King of Scotland "I will have my way." YIKES. It's fun banter, but it's also very ominous.
This is so what I think too. That scene was major foreshadowing for sure. He's all sexy and nice now but once he's "King" and her husband...oy she is so in for it with him.

^ ^ I was talking about them actually riding the horses, too. They did really well! (At least I think it was them and not stunt riders.) But I'm sure getting up on the horse is really difficult. I remember seeing bts of them with the horses. They must have had a lot of practice.

I'm truly shocked by how much I like Darnley and want to root for him, too. I blame Will! It makes me so anxious for what's to come.

I'm super curious about how they are going to deal with Keira, too. She's definitely giving me a creepy, possessive stalker vibe. But part of me actually would be relieved if Darnley would just take her as his mistress. Then I could be done with the guy for good.

Basically. It's not going to be pretty.

Right. If he does something crappy right off we don't need to worry about our future broken hearts. But if he does the right thing and tells her to get lost because he made a promise to Mary...I'll be sunk. It will suck if he IS actually a good guy and things only go sour due to circumstance.

That's it, basically.

Yes, it would totally suck. First of all, I want to hate the guy so badly, and it would be extremely disappointing for me if the show made him a good guy (and his love story with Mary genuine). Secondly, I want to protect my heart, and if Darnley proves himself to be a Grade A jerk, then I'm safe.

Well, it turned sour alright. I knew it was coming, but I'm so disappointed in Darnley. I just hate that he betrayed Mary in that way. I do sympathize with his situation. I mean... the love of his life, who he thought rejected him, comes back and tells him they were separated by lies. And then Keira offers him a future where he gets to have her AND still be King of Scotland. I don't blame him for being tempted. But... he was weak. And he ruined everything he could have had with Mary in the process.

Was he telling the truth when he said he cared for Mary, too? How can I believe him when he says he's going to end the affair? When he was confronted by Mary about his betrayal, he was such a jerk! And so insecure... accusing Mary of not loving him.

We'll have to see how the next few episodes go, but part of me wants to just wash my hands of Darnley and be done.

Will with the Afterbuzz hosts.

The thing is, Darnley wasn't really a jerk about it until Mary wouldn't give him a chance to expkain or apologize and just started yelling at him. I donfeel like she ahould have given him a second chance given the circumstances. Normally what he dis would make it the end for me, but this was a sticky situation and I feel Mary overrated.

I think he does care for Mary but it was a lot easier to build that relationship with her when Kira wasn't in the picture. Now that she's back and Darnley knows that his mother was the one who did this...and Kira is married to a man she hates, I'm sure it makes trying to move on with Mary very difficult.

He so was and that is what pissed me off so much.

I thought her reaction was pretty spot on to how most people would react in a similiar situation. She gave him plenty of chances to explain, and he did. I thought his reaction was fine till the end where he deflected with that snotty "you'll never love me" comment. It struck me as emotional manipulation that a lot of abusers use. I'm curious if he actually ends the affair at all, the promo was interesting. I do think Mary is going to be forced to give him a second chance.

I already have to some extent. However, we know they marry historically and have a kid so I'm assuming they are going to find some sort of common ground to get to that point. Plus, they really do have a great chemistry together and that helps a lot. In an odd way I'm looking foward to this crazy rollercoaster of a marriage.

Darnley is such a complex character...I'm sure I'll be hating and then loving him again from scene to scene. Kinda like Narcisse

Agreed. I really do think his feelings for Mary are genuine and he believed they could build a happy future together before he found out everything about Keira.

Her initial reaction was completely understandable. She did let him explain pretty fully. Like you said, the only part I didn't respect was when he deflected with the "you'll never love me" comment and basically blamed Mary for his cheating. I mean... didn't he JUST say in the last episode that there was a "world of feelings" between them... now all of a sudden he doesn't believe it?

That said, after processing the episode for awhile, I do think Mary overreacted a little. It's not like they are already married. And I hate saying this, but it's a bit hypocritical of Mary to judge Darnley for this one indiscretion given what she put Francis through with Conde. I'm sure Mary will give Darnley another chance, whether she wants to or not. Like Lindsay, said, historically they do end up married and have a child... so they do reach that point. I'm looking forward to seeing how they get there. It will certainly be a wild ride. At least the chemistry is there.

Exactly. That's why I can't fully give up on him yet. I really appreciate that they made him so complex and even likable. He's not just a one-dimensional villain.

I agree about the initial reaction. You can't control how you feel about something. But when did she give him a chance to explain? He said he would end it and she didn't even entertain the idea or ask him to give her a reason to trust him.

I just watched that scene again and she gave him plenty of opportunity to explain his side and he did explain it to her while she listened.

He told her that Kiera was the love of his life and that they were torn apart by a lie and that she's married and they have no future...so by default that means he's going to marry Mary (hey now that's what every woman wants to hear ). 'Well the love of my life is occupied so you will do' LOL.

I wouldn't expect Mary or any woman to just trust anything he says in the moment when you are just finding out your spouse cheated. Why should she believe him when he says he will end it? He just lied to her face and broke any trust they had.

The forgiveness stuff and figuring out if a second chance is deserved comes later after everyone has had a chance to cool down. This was just the initial confrontation. Most people aren't all that rational after they initially find out their parter is cheating.

From the looks of the promo....her secondary reaction isn't very rational either.

Well from the looks of the promo, he gives her good reason not to have one. Personally, I don't care if she snarks at him for a long time to come, he deserves it. But that's just me
